Dear Microsoft, You’re doing too much. Your format and product presentation from the original office suite editions worked fine. Bring back multiple tabs… I hate opening an entirely new window, when I was once able to switch easily between tabs. You kept it for excel, but took it away for Word. 😕 And why am I being forced to pay for Office 365 when I purchased my Word license outright, well before 365 became a thing? Please, just stop. I use Word sparingly now, and I am so grateful to be done with undergrad so that I’m no longer needing to use it if I don’t want to. This “new” Microsoft is primarily the reason you’ll be losing users to apple. Please, please, please, stop making things “new”. All you’re doing is breaking what was once a perfect product. Sincerely, ~ Angel

  • IOS version of the software for IPad leaves a lot to be desired.

Clunky and less intuitive with less or hard to find features found in the desktop version makes this program feel like a stripped down afterthought of the standard version of MS Word.

Overall, this program allows me to accomplish my task. Very many great attributes! However, I did not yet find ways to do macros or programmable buttons or other links to database for form letters to clients, etc. I also would like to see cursor buttons on my tablet screen, so I do not have to always connect a remote keyboard to move the cursor using arrow keys. Price is reasonable at this point. Thank you for multiple columns! Perhaps more columns on bigger paper would be nice. Three columns is not always enough. The program has not crashed on me so far. Beautiful!
  • You know “on the go” means no WiFi, right?

Word will not edit offline. If it does, you have to jump though quite a few hoops to get there, including pre-accessing the app and document so that the cached data is loaded when you leave WiFi range. Oh, both the document and app are downloaded on your device? Doesn’t matter. Someone at Microsoft apparently insisted the app be connected to WiFi at all times to function. Assuming MS 365 doesn’t just, you know, stop recognizing your account subscription on a whim. A bug, it seems, MS hasn’t managed to fix for iPad since 2017. So even if you are online, you might be stuck anyways. Collabora may be a little janky, but considering it’s free and somehow has better functionality than Word, I’ll be using that for my offline editing, thanks.

This is great when I can convert a pdf to word and the text is not reformatted. Awesome.
