  • So Far..So Good

But all these Apps want you to rate them before you have any real experience, with them…so be careful of the 5 star I gave, as while I’ve done “home testing”, I’ve not done the real world trail testing, yet. Garmin was “hot to trot” for a review so I gave one, but I’m not going to lie for them.
  • Useless in Central America

No roads shown in Central America apart from some when very much zoomed out, rendering the app useless for route planning in the region.
  • Searching returns no results

I’m entering specific places to search and no results are returned. Useless. Update: I use a password vault so my passwords are huge. Installed on an iPad and was going to log in, but paste of password is not supported. Not okay!!
  • Route planning from iPhone is terrible!

I should be able to add a waypoint by address or from my existing waypoints. Navigation by pointing on a map on a tiny screen is ludicrous! Look at how Apple Maps or Google Maps work. I should be able to search by address or existing waypoint. The Tread Overland does seem to have a better UI, but its route calculation is abysmally slow.
  • Does not transfer to XT2 correctly

Not only myself but a number of others on Facebook have noticed that routes are corrupted when uploaded to the XT2. They come out as empty and can not be seen on the map. Big problem as this is the only easy way to load gpx files to the device.
  • Limits on map details

Some map details, such as popular paths, are not completely shown. There is a square region of my city that has the popular paths but outside this region the purple lines stop This also makes it not possible to fully plan your route a long distance route.
  • Extremely disappointing

You release an update that includes great rides… the ONE in north Georgia has 40 miles each way of of boring slab, you miss almost all the scenic roads, you don’t have the dragon? Garmin … always so close, but so far… I wish they had competition or someone made a phone that worked with gloves so the could become irrelevant.

The Garmin XT2 and Tread app are just about perfect for moto travel. I have tried many alternatives. No laptop required (sorry, but BaseCamp is past it’s prime). Tread makes GPX management simple.
  • Terrible App

Absolutely hate this app. It appears to me that somebody developed this app to provide the absolute minimum features and functionality to be classified as a route planner. Might be ok for short off road rides.
