  • Used to be a great app

I’ve had this app since 2015, nearly 10 years. I used to love this app but it’s nearly impossible to use now because of the constant pop-ups asking to upgrade. Also I can’t go back and look at my old entries and data which rubs me the wrong way like why are you gatekeeping my own info?
  • Completely disappointed

Update! And the app got worse. Said I would only have a period for 2 days and I tried over and over to edit. I paid for this app and I also deleted it even though my membership is not up until Aug 2025. This app is not great. I’ve used other apps that are not as challenging as this app. I only use this app to track my period. As my husband had a vasectomy and we do not want any more children. I keep trying to log my period. It won’t register it. Says it’s two days late as it is but I started today and need to track it as I use this to plan vacations. I emailed support. An automatic reply came back with troubleshooting. Still nothing is working. Completely disappointed.

Had this app since 2016, had years of data stored on it. Now all of that is lost because I had no notification that they were updating anything. I cut my losses and planned to start over with the updated version of their app but it’s unusable. The full screen popups are so bad, I have to navigate a minefield of subscription buttons just to track my flow for the day. I understand that subscriptions are important to support the app but the popup ads do not need to be actively destroying the functionality of the free version. A banner at the top of the screen would be fine. Because of the popups I am considering moving on to a new tracker instead which is extremely disappointing because I really enjoyed using clue before.

It’s super easy to use and I love that they are funding research for women.
  • Great app, too many ads

This app is great for tracking periods. I would leave a 5 star review but their ads for clue plus is actively making me dislike their platform. Every time you open the app an ad blocking the page pops up. And anytime you record something, boom, an ad blocking the page pops up.
  • Conflicting stance on messaging and privacy

While they seem to take privacy seriously and offer settings to make the app discreet, every now and then you’ll get a notification on your homescreen like “Want to know all about periods? 🩸🩸😩”. I don’t want my peers seeing this. But my only choice is to disable ALL notifications, including the discreet ones that tell me my “special event is about to begin”.

It used to be a great and useful app when it was free. After it asked for subscription fee, they cut off most analysis functions. It was such a disappointing change so I decided to use other app to record my period.
  • Ads every time I open the app

It’s really frustrating to get an ad every time you open the app about Clue Premium. It makes me want to go to another platform where I can track my cycle in peace. Also, I had to turn off the daily notifications (which got turned on recently), because the messaging was so weird. And the fact that I’m also constantly getting notifications outside of the app for premium is frustrating too. News flash: showing ads every 2 seconds does not make a user more likely to subscribe. This is just bad UX. Please be better.

I have been using this app since around 2017. It has always been spot on with when my period started and when I would ovulate and etc.. The app itself is fine. The thing I have a problem with is that pretty much everything that once was free now costs money. So, like, I used to be able to add daily notes and come up with my own tags, etc. but now you have to upgrade and get a monthly or yearly subscription to even use those features. And I absolutely HATE when you go to save something you want to track and the ad pops up after every single save. It is the most annoying thing ever! And it truly makes me enjoy this app less and less. There should honestly be an option to where we can opt out of seeing the ad if we are not interested in upgrading any time soon or ever.
  • Way to many ads to upgrade so obnoxious

I used to love this app ever since I started my period I have had this app but I finally am so frustrated and deleting it for another app specifically due to the amount of promotion all over the app to upgrade. I’m sorry i’m not upgrading something I use once a month. Clue needs to do better.
