Description

Sink It for Reddit is a hyper focused Safari extension that makes Reddit's web version usable. Features a ton of quality of life improvements including color coded comments, content muting, adaptive dark mode and more. Tired of seeing too many banners and buttons asking you to use the app or login? Sink It silently, and safely, removes all of them as well as the "promotional" content too! Make the "Modern" Reddit Experience Usable ------------------------------------------- Supercharge your Reddit experience with color coded comments, improved comments navigation, adaptive dark mode, content muting, and so much more. Sink It also de-clutters and removes most “omfg please use our app” banners and buttons as well as the annoying login popups from Reddit in addition to removing advertisements. Yeah, we loathe them too! Privacy First -------------- Sink It has been built with a privacy first approach. - All the blocking happens on your device with literally ZERO data being recorded or sent back to be data mined. - We don't keep usage data like the count of how many popups and banners it has blocked or links it has redirected. - We don't even come with basic app analytics or telemetry to keep track of how many times you've opened or use the app. - It does check whether you have dark mode on or not so it can show you the correct tutorial video. (I hate opening a bright video on dark mode as much as you.) If you're a security researcher, feel free to poke around to make sure the app isn't up to anything funky.

  • A must have for Reddit browsing

This extension is a must have for browsing Reddit. The overall Reddit experience has been in steady decline for the past several years, with the site becoming less functional and less well-administered, and third party apps effectively shut out in favor of Reddits own awful app. This extension can’t rectify all the issues, but it DOES provide good quality of life features that work reliably and across MacOS/iOS. It makes the site easier to navigate, better looking, and with fewer annoyances. Without this extension I don’t think I’d ever use Reddit again.
  • Pretty well useless

Got it to auto redirect Reddit to old.reddit, but that's pretty much useless when half of reddit is marked as nsfw and you want people to pay for "MaX!!" just to do that. Useless. Trash.
  • The only extension that blocks Reddit's annoying requests

Thank you for this. using reddit on a browser is the most annoying thing ever. they mark clearly sfw stuff as nsfw, just to make you download/open/use the reddit app. sometimes i need to use safari so that i can open multiple tabs. this is a blessing.
  • Best Reddit add-on!

Easily the best replacement for the official Reddit App.
  • Don’t upgrade, lose features behind paywall

They lock out features that were free and put it behind a paywall.
  • Unusable

I want to love this app because I use the web version of Reddit ever since Apollo shut down. However it’s poorly optimized and causes Safari to refresh the page constantly. “Makes the Reddit web version actually usable”? Yeah, no. On the contrary, it actually makes it very unusable.

I love this app. I can use Reddit via safari now and actually enjoy it. Or at least not hate it. I’m not going back to the 1st party app after this. Great job on a killer app.
  • Thank you

After the election, Reddit was way to political and with no way to mute in the app, I was at my wits end. This extension saved my love for Reddit. Thanks!
  • Works great from browser..but not if you add shortcut to home screen on iPad

Not sure the difference, but it works great when I navigate to Reddit.com from Safari. Then I figured I’d add a home screen shortcut to Reddit.com to replace the Reddit app for easier access, but it doesn’t work when I access through the shortcut. No clue.
  • Was amazing, stopped working

Sink it was great, used to make Reddit useable. Now all of my muted content is no longer muted, ads are prevalent, and Reddit goes back into reset loops again. The app nags haven’t returned but that’s the only thing that still works.
