Takes forever and a pain. Cannot do from iPhone photos or videos to drive. It times out. Have to keep G drive open and then upload. Must keep drive open too. Otherwise it stops.

Any document, anywhere, any device. Easy universal resource in the cloud with solid permissions for sharing (or not). Great for selective backups.

  • App continuously runs in background with no way to stop it

Have had this problem for years. Sometimes it goes away. It’s back now. iPhone shows Drive has run in the background for 89 hours in the last 10 days. I have everything turned off for drive. App is not open, it cannot use cellular data, no background refresh, no notifications, no Siri, not allowed access camera - only select photos. I even tried to limit it to 1 minute a day with Apple’s Screen Time App Limits. Not sure what kind of scam google is running on my phone for 9 hours a day with no clear way to turn it off.
  • Lack of Control over storage

I hate paying for storage. Unfortunately I seem to be in some kind of a feedback loop where I will delete something off of Google Drive, but I do not wish to delete it off of my back up drive at home. And it just keeps getting back onto my Google Drive. I wish there was a way to protect the file such that it does not upload into the cloud. I don’t want everything I have in the cloud.and I certainly don’t want to pay the extra storage fee for all those megabytes of stuff.
