  • Omni Productivity

My senior executive productivity for big projects is super charged with 3 interconnected Omni apps. OmniPlan to plan, map, monitor and update. OmniOutliner to track and identify progress accross multiple metrics. OmniFocus to drive daily focus and effort. In this combination, for me, these Omni apps genrate consistent results and deliver a clear return on my investment in time and money. Thank you The Omni Group.

  • Streamlined and better than ever

I’ve used OmniFocus off and on since it came out. Sometimes it felt a bit too detailed, requiring too much setup & maintenance. Version 4 fixes any of that. The UI is more streamlined and clean, settings let you hide the stuff you don’t use, and going between iOS and Mac is easier than ever. And nice onboarding! This really is the best version of an app I’ve loved for GTD for a long time.
  • No it’s just ugly

I paid to upgrade to version four and have tried to use it but I can’t get past the ugly interface. It just makes no sense. It’s so cluttered and hard to use that I have bailed on it and gone back to TickTick, which is better in almost every way.
  • Like the upgrade...

So I've been using Omnifocus since version 2, and I did kind of step away from version 3. I thought I would see how 4 is going. I do like it, however- with out my background in Omni, I wonder how I would figure it out. Some of the ios U/I is a little non-intuitive. I find myself wanting to click on things to bring about a next interface move, that doesn't happen. But all in all- I compared it to my old v. 3 and I really do like the upgrade. I'm having fun using Omni. There's just something about it that clicks in your brain, and makes sense (maybe the GTD?), that sets it apart from Todoist and Things. I get so bored with those other apps. Especially Things. Omnifocus 4 is making me excited to work right now.
  • A downgrade

Tried this and found the new user interface clunky, confusing, and cluttered. There is no “home” view like previous versions displaying headings for inbox and other perspectives that you can click into. It you straight to your inbox, with tiny perspective headings on the bottom of the screen. I found navigation confusing as well. Overall I really disliked this update and will continue to use Omnifocus 3 as long as I can.

This was—and still is— a great app. Already the best in its class, it didn't need improvement . . . and it didn't change much in the update to version 4. That's why the $75 upgrade price strikes me as way too high. The iPhone app got all the benefit of the update, and for people who live out of their phone the extra $$$ may be worth it. But if you use Omnifocus mostly on your Mac, I'd say sit this one out.
  • Cannot sync between Mac and iPhone

I purchased the incredibly expensive one-time payment for Pro. My passphrase does not work. I know it’s the correct one. As a result, I can’t sync OF between my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. This, it’s useless. I’ve contacted Support twice now and have tried every single thing suggested to fix this issue. Nothing is working. What a waste of money this was :(

So I had massive freezing and crashing problems with this initially. I think it requires more free space on your iPhone. Cleared that up and deleted completed projects and that helped. I still find the layout confusing and have spent too much time trying to figure it out…still haven’t quite…yet even with the tutorial and not sure how to get the plugins to work on iPhone…. All that said…feels like it has potential… Update: Nope still freezing like crazy back to 1 star….it always starts out fully expanded and that crashes my app because I have so many projects. Please let me go back to Omni3. Update still crashing despite uninstalling and reinstalling and having 10GB free space Update again: their update seems to have fixed the major freezing issues. Back up to 4 stars.

Changing my rating!!! “I had gotten the free two week trial, but it is impossible to find a place to cancel the App so that I am not charged. “ Sent them a note on this and they immediately got back to me. So sweet. Unlike most App’s that start charging you immediately after your trial expires and you failed to cancel in time, these people don’t. It just reverts back to the “free” section. NOW THAT IS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! And a good policy. They must be a good company. I have found I just don’t have that many “to do’s” to use such a detailed App. This would be good for an executive or some one with lots of to do’s in different areas. Thank you OmniFocus for such good customer service.
