Using this with a self-hosted FreshRSS instance and it’s fantastic

tried emailing a couple times about enabling Apple Vision Pro support and developer won’t respond. don’t appreciate that after purchasing Reeder on all the platforms it’s available on. app hasn’t seen any meaningful changes since i bought it years ago.

The app is pretty looking. Nice animations but that’s it. It’s slow to load articles (with just 25 feeds only) post images many times don’t load when scrolling through the list. When trying to get full article text, is a hit or miss. The app definitely need some updates. However, it hasn’t been updated in a year. It could be an abandoned app now.

There’s no reason why this iPad app couldn’t also run on the Vision Pro like so many other apps. Just enable it

I’ve used Reeder for years. I paid for the upgraded to version 5 and all it does is give the message “Reeder crashed the last time it was trying to open its database.” Resetting Reeder doesn’t fix the issue and this message is displayed again and again. I contacted support but there is no reply.

I enjoy this app daily on my Mac, iPhone, and iPad, but now I need it on my Apple Vision Pro!

Image Previews could use some improvement. Medium previews offers a square aspect ratio, but Large crops a lot of the image out. I wish Reeder had better handling of different aspect ratios so the entire image could appear within the Image Preview. I also have some issues with certain RSS feeds from Reddit consistently retrieving posts from years ago, despite continuing to Mark As Read. Otherwise, the app is pretty slick and modern. I like it.

Decent newsreader, a number of helpful features, but also, a few unfortunate quirks. The biggest is that images for many feed sources are duplicated when using “reader view” (a must for easy reading). This has been an issue for a long time, but the developer is unresponsive.

Needs Tag management & support replies. No way to edit or delete tags. They just add up becoming unmanageable. In the many years of using the app the developer has never once replied to a support request. Good app in spite of these.
