upgraded to unfold pro to be able to remove their watermark from the bio site i was creating. finally reached out to support where they let me know that feature was removed. so incredibly disappointing and i hope they reconsider. will be using a different platform unless they offer this.

Dead. You know the vibes. Just like old school vsco and IG. Apps dead. Even the free stuff isn’t free anymore. They’ve added a “watermark” they never used to have

I like this app and have used it regularly for years but lately the constant up charging is out of control. $2.99 a month to remove the new watermark is ridiculous. Chill out Unfold.

I’ve been using unfold for a variety of uses beyond posting on Instagram for 5+ years and it’s always been spectacular. People ask me about it all the time and I’ve always raved about it…until today. Now the entire app is effectively behind a paywall because of the watermark. I’ve already recreated the templates in InDesign and I’ll be using those from now on unless Unfold becomes usable again. I’m beyond disappointed. Edit: I now use SCRL. It’s a similar app that is even better than Unfold, specifically if you’re creative and want to use the app to make things from scratch. Lots of fonts, color customization, and stickers are free without the subscription. Thanks Unfold for forcing me to find a new (and 10x better) app!

Just annoyed - the basic templates i’ve been using for 2+ years are now behind a paywall. I get apps have to make money but a heads up would’ve been nice!

I bought templates a few years back. But now I have to pay monthly…? Take the watermark off the templates I bought. It feels like I should be able to freely use the ones I purchased.

Forcing a watermark on a free template defeats the purpose of having a tiered payment system, especially when it comes out the blue!!!!

Unfold used to be my go-to app for creating quick posts and content on the go. However, this changed after their recent update which placed watermarks over templates that had been free to use for YEARS and even some that I had ALREADY PAID FOR. I am very disappointed in the developers for pulling something like this on their loyal users and will unfortunately be uninstalling until they come to their sense, as the app has been rendered useless.

Making the watermark mandatory in order to get people to buy your subscription is downright predatory and ridiculous. I understand that this app is a business, but if your business model includes making your product useless, and uglier for the great amount of your consumers then so be it, I guess. I will try another app.
