  • Great if you aren't using ED25519 SSH Keys

If you protect your redis instance behind an SSH jump box that has an ED25519 SSH key it doesn't let you connect; says the key type is not supported. Sorry, I refuse to use the compromised RSA to secure my redis server. Not sure what these clowns are playing at here with this kind of error message, but if they are referring to the openssl installed on the host machine, then ED25519 is supported. I give this app a 1 star rating because, as an app developer I am calling this out as a bad practice. I will reverse my rating when ED25519 is not descriminated against manually in this application. Now onto finding another Redis GUI.

For whatever reason the app will not let me copy hashtables. Super frustrating. Otherwise a decent app.
  • Doesn't seem to support SSH tunneling to ElastiCache

My AWS SSH key seems to use a format of id_rsa that Medis doesn't support. Beware.
  • Problem with SSH Tunneling

This tool was perfect previously - but since updating to Mojave, the SSH tunneling feature no longer works.
  • SSL Support doesn't work

Keep away if you're using SSL. I try to connect to an IBM Cloud redis instance via SSL I keep getting a self-signed certificate error.. I can validate the certificate no problem with redis-py and openssl on my mac, so not sure what's going on here..

This too does everything I need. It has been a great help.
  • Pretty mediocre for a PAID app

OK, so this redis gui works, however, it would be nice to have more features such as autocomplete in the terminal, view customization, docs with commands, etc...

This tool does everything I need it to for my daily work with Redis, my only wish is that it optionally provided a “tree” view of the redis cache similar to RedisDesktopManager. The Redis caches I work on typically have 40,000+ keys in them, so the default list does not give me a great overview of the entire cache at once. This is not a deal breaker, just something i’d love to see added. I love that Medis displays the value type of each key, and the filtering capability by key name is great too. The “Config” tab is a huge help, as most of the options provided are ones I would typically need to configure either via the console AND also add to the config file. Being able to do it in one spot is awesome.
