  • Broken w/ Big Sur

Used this application for a couple of months with no complaint. The developer even released an update to match the new folder style included in Big Sur. Unfortunately, folder aliases no longer keep the color of the original folder chosen by Folder Colorizer. So all my desktop alias folders are back to stock blue.
  • Good Servicable Program

This is a simple program that does what it says it will do. I have had no problems with it. **Yes, it DOES restore my folders to their original color.** My only quibble with the program is there is no "reset" or "clear" function that, with one button, would remove all the folers that have been added to the "folders to colorize" window. Otherwise, you have to tediously hit the "minus" button and remove folders individually. (Or, like I do, I quit and restart the program.) Otherwise, I good, servicable program.

Like so many others, I looked everywhere for a good folder colorizer. I bought this and for a whole day, I was busily organizing my desktop with colored folders. Then I found I wanted to make some changes. No matter what I try to do, it seems like once the folder has been colored, that's it. I still like that I can color some of them, but not being able to reverse the color (despite the "restore color" and all that) is a major flaw.
  • You are truly a savior.

Paid for this app. Tried to use it. Would not change color of folder more than once or if I had changed my mind. Also folder randomly changed colors 2 days later without any action on my part. Would not recommend.

After installing Mojave, this has stopped working properly. It will still color folders nices, but it won't re-color an already colored folder. No changes take effect.

I have an issue. If I set a folder to a color, e.g., green. I can't change it to another color except back to its default color. Going gorward, regardless of the color I select it will only present the green color - it seems to be a mior bug.
  • Simply terrific!

I love this program! It's really simple and it's extremely helpful in distinguishing between folders. Humans are visual creatures, much more than we are literary creatures. The human brain is adapted to "sight" much more so than adapted to reading text. For this reason alone, this program is brilliant. Calvin Luther Martin, PhD Rutgers University professor (retired)
