App is sending analytics to their server without asking a permission. There is no way to disable it in the app ui. And there is no info about that.
  • Does exactly what it says it does

This app is one of those targetted applications that does a single, particular task, and it does it well. The interface is bare-bones, but that's a generally good thing for utilities. It is a bit odd, though, which is why I didn't give it five stars. To close the app, one has to click on a power symbol in the lower left of the interface. There are no window controls or menubar, which may make sense, given that the only setting for the app is "Open at login." It's just awkward to find.

  • Simple & useful, but it needs to provide users with control over shortcuts

This is the fastest, simplest way to accomplish something I have to do several times per week. I would rate it as a 5-star app if not for one problem it has caused. It includes two shortcuts and does not provide a way to customize them or turn them off. Control-O is reserved for opening an image and Control-C is used to select portions of the screen. I already had Control-O and Control-C set for other universal shortcuts on my Mac. Changing those is a pain because they are part of a large set of customized Control- shortcuts. I either need to change my shortcuts or only run Aspect Ratio Calculator when I need it; yet, it’s the kind of app that is most useful if it’s always available. Although I use shortcuts a lot, I’d prefer to use the menu for these two functions in Aspect Ratio Calculator.
  • Won’t Lanch

Aspect Ratio Calculator won’t launch under Mavericks. Try to launch it and it accesses a couple unrelated web sites (Little Snitch), puts an icon on the menu bar momentarily and the icon goes away. Nothing happens. Is this a menu bar app and I don’t know how to start it? Confused.
