  • Won’t keep time

This app is annoying. It never keeps the accurate time that my kids have used. I’ll open it and it says they have 2 hours but in reality they’ve already used some of their time and it never updates to the accurate amount they’ve used. This is a constant thing with this app. I’be deleted it and uploaded it again to fix the problem. Didn’t work. I’ve logged out to fix the problem. Didn’t work. I’ve even started from scratch and removed their tablets completely and reloaded them on the app and AGAIN. DIDNT WORK. This is the second time it’s happened and I’m going on 4 months with this issue. It happened last year for several months and they were able to fix it and it worked well for a couple of months but then it started all over again. Incredibly frustrating.
  • Very Difficult to set up.

The instructions are not clear, only thru desktop computer, I have tried like 24 times to pair my child device and it ends at the same step making it an endless cycle. When making the schedule to block access, it does not make clear if you are blocking or giving access. The very old design and bright color (glowing green screen, make it difficult to see the white letters, in my app or the my kid "jr ourpact" does not gives chance to change that bright and hurting color to "dark mode" or change the color of the letters to make a contrast or change their size. But the most difficult it's have been the setting up, I paid premium for a year and I have not been able to use it for a single month. 😏if they would be willing the update for a more practical and easy to use program, more parents would really take advantage of the concept in a more pleasant way. ☹️
  • Does not respond to app issues but continues to take $$

I have been in contact with this app/company/Employees for months now on why I’m getting charged but yet I don’t have access to the premium account which I pay for every month. At first they tried to blame it on Apple saying they couldn’t find my account and then I would actually need to sign up under them, instead of going through Apple to pay, I’ve never had that happen before and I’ve had this on my phone and my children’s phone for years after going back-and-forth with someone they explained that they would escalate the issue and that they would get back to me. That was almost 3 months ago and I’m still being charge for a premium account which I don’t have access to, unacceptable! I have explained to them several times that I have receipts from Apple and my bank where I was charged and yet they still can’t seem to figure it out or give me access to the premium account which I’ve had for years and still continue to get charged for. Update 3/8/24 I have filed a complaint/refund issue with apple since this company will NOT respond to any of my email I keep sending them.
  • Better than iPhone screen time/down time

Wish it had more nuanced control over individual apps though.
  • Can not get this to install

This is so frustrating, I’ve spent $99 to have this service, but instead my child’s locked out of his apps, my phone app says I need to use my computer to manage it, and my computer says I need to sync his device. A computer is required to install this program so I paired my child’s device using my MacBook and it said it was ready to be used. All of my child’s games and social media is greyed out now so I opened my app on my phone to change his settings, but my phone app says I need to use my computer. I log back into my MacBook and it has the same Ourpact Setup menu, not the parental menu asking what time of device I need to sync. I go through the prompts and it just cycles through the process over and over again without allowing me to proceed passed the alert saying it’s ready before returning back to the setup menu. My MacBook is always plugged into a power source, but because of the power it’s consuming from the constant syncing and needing to be connected to my child’s phone it’s now died. I’m at a loss on what to do from here
  • Great Concept - TERRIBLE Execution

OurPact could have been so great, but it has been one massive disappointment. Every time you have an issue, of which there will be MANY, you will receive nothing but auto generated emails that don’t even address your specific need. You will then be told that they struggle with Apple products (why are you on Apple’s App Store, then?) and you should “borrow a pc” to maintain the applications necessary for OurPact to work. Honestly, save yourself the money and Google how to match Apple’s parental controls with the services OurPact can give you. After years of dealing with the headache that is OurPact, that is what we’ve done and have been fully satisfied with our decision. BTW, after you cancel your services with them, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to fully remove their software from your child’s device. We’ve done it repeatedly and it keeps coming back whenever we have to power it off and on again. So buyer beware, OurPact is essentially a virus that preys on concerned parents for their money. I hope this helps your decision!

Although this app takes a little effort to set up, once it’s there, I like it with the exception of a few things. It monitors screen time well (unlike the built in Apple parental controls which don’t work half the time) and shuts off access after time limit is reached. I like that you can control each app independently and have your child ask before downloading new apps (although this can be glitchy and sometimes the request won’t come through). I do not like that kids have to pause their time to keep it from running out while they aren’t using their phones. This leads to issues when they inevitably forget to pause or they are in an area with poor signal and can’t pause. Also, I don’t like that it won’t let them rearrange their apps on their home screens. I’m not understanding how this is a safety feature and is a huge annoyance for my ocd kid who wants her apps in a certain order. When she locks her apps where she wants them, they automatically reset to a random order the next day. OurPact!!! Take away the necessity to pause the time, the inability to arrange apps on the home screen, and improve app request notifications and you’ll have yourself a good product.
