Description

PocketGuard is a budgeting app for people who want to be on top of their money. Personal finance is made simple by smart algorithms, which means budgeting with PocketGuard is so easy that you don't have to spend your entire life crunching numbers. We take care of all the routines like expense tracking and bill monitoring so you can clearly focus on money management operations. Always know what's in your pocket! A budget is a difference between income and expenses. If it's positive - you're doing well. In any other case, the budget is unbalanced and needs attention. This is where the "IN MY POCKET" feature takes action. How much disposable income do you have after paying your bills, saving for your goals, and setting aside enough money for needs and wants? The PocketGuard budgeting app does those calculations for you! Always know the actual safe-to-spend amount so you can fit your monthly budget. Comprehensive analytics! Budget and expense tracking are just a part of the story. If you wanna do money management the right way you need to learn from the data you track. PocketGuard's budgeting app provides you with various reports to let you see personal finances from different angles. Learn about your spending habits, make necessary adjustments, and optimize your monthly budget. Bill tracker and subscription manager! You can use PocketGuard as a bill organizer. Once you connect bank accounts the app starts working as a finance tracker. All your bills and subscriptions will be identified automatically and included in your monthly budget. The bill organizer will help you never miss the due date again. PocketGuard bill organizer gives you an easy way to negotiate better rates with your provider. So you can optimize your budget by cutting costs on services you use. PocketGuard subscription manager will help you to find subscriptions you might have forgotten about. This is another money management trick - stop paying for services you no longer need. Set and reach your financial goals! Goals are a key concept of budgeting. As was mentioned before, expense tracking is just a part of the story. Personal finance is made of goals. Let's say you want to spend less on shopping or save more for vacation. These are financial goals. The PocketGuard budget app gives you all the necessary tools to set them properly. Set up your debt-payoff plan! Nobody's perfect and almost anyone has debt to pay off. The question is: do you have a plan? Connect all your credit and loan accounts and we'll show you the way to a debt-free future. Our smart algorithm calculates the most profitable debt repayment strategy so you'll save hundreds or even thousands by paying less in interest! BANK-LEVEL SECURITY We use the same 256-bit SSL encryption as all major banks to ensure your sensitive information is safe and sound. The PocketGuard app also uses PIN codes and biometrics, like Touch ID & Face ID, as an additional security layer. PocketGuard connects to U.S. and Canadian financial institutions only. PocketGuard offers a premium subscription - PocketGuard Plus - which gives you access to additional features and is not required to use PocketGuard. PocketGuard Plus subscription lengths and prices: Monthly - $12.99* / month Annual - $74.99* / year Prices are in U.S. dollars, may vary in countries other than the U.S., and are subject to change without notice. If you choose to purchase PocketGuard Plus, payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Auto-renewal may be turned off at any time by going to your settings in the iTunes Store after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited if you purchase a different subscription plan. • Apple Watch app doesn’t show In My Pocket

The Apple Watch app isn’t allowing me to see In My Pocket, just Budgets. This is not what the screenshots show. Otherwise, the iPhone app itself is quite good.

Tried many budgeting apps, this is the best. Intuitive and does what i need. I’m retired and mind my budget with this app and will probably use it till I die.
  • Don’t do it

I don’t get all of the good reviews, this app is one of the worst. The UI is from the 90s, all features require a subscription, and those features aren’t actually that good. Lastly, they way they connect your data means that Plaid is taking your information and selling it. See the $58 million settlement for Plaid. I’ve requested a refund, through Apple and their customer service.
  • Decent App, doesn’t synch with Apple Pay

Disappointed that it doesn’t synch with Apple Pay like Monarch does. Would consider switching back if it did. Synchs with all the other bank accounts and loans nicely.
  • Almost a Mint replacement

I’ve been pleased with the user interface as a recovering Mint user trying to move on. I can’t give PocketGuard 5 stars though because it’s missing some obvious features. They seem like possible easy fixes so maybe there’s hope! Pros: Mint Import, split transactions, manual cash transactions, nice monthly trends, Web access, Wise account connects (using Plaid link). One time purchase (find in iOS for $80), shared user for Budgeting. Cons: auto categorization is poor - most of my transactions have to be manually changed (supposedly it will learn tho as I creat rules. The worst part is that there are NO SuBCATEGORIES?! The graphs are nice, but you’ll need a lot of custom categories or just general overview with no subcategories, seems like an odd miss for a tracking app. Also no multi Currency (unlike Wallet and Spendee), rollover budgeting still in roadmap, no iPad oriented App (unlike Buddy and Wallet). Accounts are sometime not updated - it seems like it does not have manual refresh for all accounts?

All the budgeting plan charge you monthly. This is not a free app. Don’t even bother downloading.
  • Mint was way better

My biggest problem with Pocket guard is that when I go to check my accounts, I can’t view them all on one page, I have to scroll down to see them all so I end up writing them down on paper which kinda negates the advantage of having them listed on an app. Secondly, I can’t check my latest transactions in each account. The transactions are listed but it is not easy to see which account they were made from or what category they might belong to. Thirdly, I find it would be more helpful to have my accounts listed in ranked order from greatest to least. Fourth, the option to log out should be on the main screen, or at least at the top of the drop down menu. I miss Mint.
  • Free trial is a SCAM - you can’t cancel

By Not FREE Trial - can’t cancel
Literally spend FOREVER, sent three emails and deleted several points of detailed data in order to cancel this free trial before I was charged and YOU CANT! It’s a scam. Period. They claimed I needed to delete the subscription from apple (purchase on the App Store) but the only thing purchased through app was the FREE trial. They charged the subscription on my card. Nothing listed as even possible to refund because nothing was purchased through apple. Deleted EVERYTHING from the app, followed all the cancelation instructions and email THREE TIMES to insure I was all set. Silence. Listen, this is a scam.
  • Unfulfilled Promises and No Refunds

This app promised several updates that kept getting pushed back. I was very patient in waiting for them to provide the updates they promised. However, when I finally reached out after months of waiting, I was told they still were unsure of the expected updates. I asked for a refund and they were unable to process it. I was told to go through Apple. However, Apple said that I waited too long and they were no longer able to refund me for the subscription. Long story short: don’t believe PocketGuard when they say they are going to make updates. And don’t wait too long for them to make these updates before you request a refund!

3 weeks ago, perfectly valid TD Bank login credentials started failing in this app. It’s useless.
