  • Another battery killer made by Microsoft

5 minutes of usage and it kills 20-30% of your phone battery instantly. The app also has no option to block location usage, so every time you use the application, it doxxes and stores your location history on your account. Don’t use this garbage.
  • Cash back doesn't work

Receipts submitted will have items advertised by Microsoft as eligible for cash back. However, the receipt will always be declined. No support available to bring this up. Poor user experience based on the lack of support.
  • Cheap and greedy

99% of all, if not 100%, of all rewards for scanned receipts are not not worth $0.01 where with Fetch, Frisbee and almost any other rewards app they award more. Fetch awards nothing less than $0.025 per scan. 1.5x more than this app. They’re being beyond stingy, they’re greedy. Removing app after I complete this post. Simply a waste of time to use it.
  • This app is really buggy

There are some noticeable bugs in this app that are pretty annoying, a big one is you having to re-login with your Microsoft account every day just to do the polls and quizzes for Microsoft points. Reported it a few times and it’s been over a year and nothings happened.

  • Microsoft Start Rewards is a joke

Time for Microsoft to get serious. Theirs receipt rewards program is a joke. They need to accept the fact that their program is garbage next to the app Fetch and even inferior CoinOut. One major failing is if you scan a receipt and Microsoft doesn’t like it, they freeze your account so you can’t get rewards and then they run a disclaimer saying it could take 90 days to clear. Like most things out of Microsoft, the end user is their text environment.
  • What is this?

I’m trying to replace Google and Apple News for something a bit more ubiquitous and PC native. Start simply isn’t it, I’m not even sure the app knows what it’s supposed to be. Is it a news feed? A browser? A crummy video news tool? (video news is THE WORST). Copilot? (Even though Copilot is its own app, and is ALSO baked into the Bing app). There are ads in the top portions of the homepage, before any relevant content is shown. I’ve fine tuned my feed on iOS, Android, and Windows, yet it still shows me nonsense popular media articles rather than relevant content despite said tuning. I wanted this to be useful, since in theory the same feed is used on Windows, but it isn’t doing the trick.
  • Missing cash back and worst customer service

This application is the worst app in the world. They don’t give you the money they owe you and when you try to message customer support they just give you the run around. I’m deleting this app and never coming back
