I’ve had this app installed for almost 2 years now and out of nowhere my audio doesn’t work on my iPhone anymore to hear what my Computer is playing. Wait, I lied, the audio only works if it’s connected to a Bluetooth speaker or earbuds. What happened ?!?!

No sound from the host computer and the pop up stays in the middle of the screen until you move it into a corner twice where it’ll still be a green corner bothering you. The brain dead wastes of life that developed this garbage should be ashamed of themselves.
  • 5 years later still no esc button…

I can’t believe after soo long this app STILL lacks the basic functionality to escape. No control button or way to tab. Very disappointed google!
  • Honestly? Really lacking… If you can, try something different.

I’m pretty sure google has abandoned this software or has a skeleton crew on it because nothing new ever comes to it. The iPad app suffers from a lot of the things that rob it from being a productivity tool. - Inconsistent mouse and keyboard support - No scroll wheel support (kinda the biggest bother for me) - Random disconnects even when both connections are stable - Very rare, but crashes on occasion using the iPad mini (haven’t had it crash on the M1 Pro yet) - Less command support/input support Compared to the desktop app, this one feels like it was never meant for power users, just Johnny logging in to help grandma uninstall candy crush for the third time. Even then that’s a bit of a stretch. Since I have no choice but to use this one for work, I’m stuck with it. But I’m really hoping that google can get a wake up call. That or they’ll discontinue this service like they do everything else, either way. I hope to see improvements in the following areas that will improve this app drastically: - BT mouse and keyboard support improved - Scroll Wheel support - Stability improvements

Chrome Remote Desktop does it’s job with being able to control your computer remotely. Although it’s missing some extremely vital controls and has multiple problems. Upon connecting to my Mac, immediately the first thing I noticed is that the cursor is not accurate at all. I would hover over something and it would click something else much further away in both touch and trackpad mode. I’ve found that turning on scale desktop resolution fixes the problem, but then when I get back to my computer the display looks pixelated until I go to settings and change the desktop resolution. The next huge issue missing with this app is the lack of a full keyboard. In one instance, when I was trying to navigate my launchpad, because of the mouse inaccuracy, it forced me to open a different app, the app was an Apple Arcade app and it auto full screened, didn’t let me access the dock or menu bar, and the app also didn’t have a exit button. The only way I could’ve closed it was with the keys it’s (Cmd+Q) or switching to the desktop to close it from the dock. Both of these could’ve been done with a full keyboard, although I couldn’t do it because of the lack of important keys like Command, Option, Control, Function Keys, etc. I also could not do the 3 finger trackpad flick which lets you switch to the desktop. There are also many other issues with the app, such as the lack of trackpad gestures. Although Chrome Remote Desktop does its job well with showing the screen, it lacks control with other alternatives such as Parallels Remote Access, even though it is paid, it fixes all of these issues and gives you an extremely easy to use interface. Please fix these issues!

I have installed the chrome app on my PC and on my iPad, everything appears to be set up correctly, but the connection is lost after a couple of seconds. I have tried a few times and the connection won’t last more that 2 seconds. Is this one of those half baked, hit or miss gadgets created by google by some admin during his lunch time and never supported or tested? Ridiculous.

Wonderful for Windows operating laptops. It was really useful to use for presentations or as a remote when I used the laptop as a TV. The app does not work well for Macs however. The app screen doesn’t accurately line up with what’s presented on the Mac screen and isn’t operable beyond using to as a remote to turn off the Mac. Nice app otherwise.
  • hardly works; afterthought of an app

There's so much potential here, but... 1) Got dual monitors on your home system? You're out of luck -- Chrome RD will stretch them across a single virtual monitor, which is pretty useless. 2) Got a hardware mouse on your iOS device? Too bad. Right-clicking won't work. It seems like the remote tunneling protocol would have been the hard things to code -- why didn't they polish it up with some of these easy things to fix? Sad, really.
  • Of course this exists.

Thank you, Google. This app has changed my life for the better. You know me better than any of my friends and family.
