There are many good things to say about the app, like many reviewers already pointed out. So I will focus on the things I don't like so much. For one, it does not repeat spoken words, unless you force it to by tapping on it. Why not automatically repeat them a few times. Or at least give users the option in settings so that new words are spoken 3 times (or any number of times) maybe even with different voices in different speeds. Then it asks you to fill in blanks in such an obvious way by providing pictures with the possible answers that everyone can do it without thinking. There is just generally too much interaction involved. You can't do an exercise without constantly tapping your screen to continue. It also throws in lots of new words while training you a specific new word without explaining the others. Yes, they give you the English translation, but that's not helpful unless you constantly look at the screen. It is just too visual for me. In combination with my LEARN SPANISH podcast it is quite nice, despite all the things I mentioned above. Not cheap though.
  • Great — More languages?

Great app, I used it to keep up on my French for quite awhile and also to start learning German. Things are very intuitive and laid out well. It made it very easy to learn writing/reading/speaking which is a hard combo to find. I didn’t renew my subscription the last time though because they only support 14 languages (mostly western) and I was getting into learning Korean which they don’t have. I’ll keep an eye on things though and will definitely be returning if they ever add support for more east-asian languages ^.^.
  • Make sure to cancel prior to end of renewal date

Per the fine print in the “terms and conditions”, your access auto-renews and if you are done dealing with this not very effective app, you’d better cancel this auto-renewal before your subscription expires because otherwise they will charge you for the renewal and run with your money.
  • Material does not always fit the screen

  • Meh for the price

Price is ok but hard to maintain consistent practice for reasons below. Gives you more sentences in the beginning and moves faster than Duolingo but makes you spell the new words out!! At the first part of the lesson there are no tips for spelling which is HARD when you’re trying to learn French. Also introduces a lot of extra words to make sentences so prior knowledge is helpful to figure out the context. And the microphone is reeeaaalllyyy picky. Overall, more advanced than Duolingo but hardly close to user friendly for a quick lesson.
  • Fun, educational, and convenient!

This is all I’ve ever wanted in regards to learning Spanish. I need something convenient since I’m always on the go. I also needed something fun and engaging, so that I can stay consistent. It also keeps track of how many days you practice in a row, so that you can uphold a streak and thus remain accountable. Love it!
