I have been using Focus for ages. Some of the recent updates which allow for custom duration on specific tasks and budgeting time are great. The sync between devices is amazing too, for when I take my breaks. The iOS app also makes use of Live Events now, so you can see from your lock screen where you are in your timer if you're on the go. I love it.
  • App doesn't sync well with Apple Watch

This is a great app if you are only using it on your computer, but if you want to sync your focus session with your Apple Watch or iPhone, be prepared to be incredibly frustrated. I've been a paid subscriber for multiple years, and there are still huge syncing issues between my various devices, despite promised improvements
  • very bad experience

I paid for one year and then cancel the subscription (just to ensure I didn't forget later). Then every time I activate the focus session, there will be a pop-up advertisement window.
  • a big disappointment

The user interface is great, and the app is available across the apple echosystem. Unfortunately, the app fails to sync across devices reliably. And let's be honest here, the one thing you would want to see in any kind of timer-based app is flawless app syncing. I have noticed that the developers place a lot of importance on tracking specific tasks and making sure that ALL of your tracked tasks are synced. Regrettably, this means that your apple watch will spend most of the time trying to sync data from - in my case - as far back as 2018 instead of keeping the timers in sync. As a last ditch effort to salvage value from the app I attempted to delete all of my icloud data for Focus. To my dismay, the data kept returning to all of my devices despite multiple deletion attempts.
  • Really makes you aware of how you spend time

I transferred over from using Tomito ( great free version of this app) and while I enjoyed using it, I wanted to be able to extend my focus sessions without having to do some mental math and use other tracking devices to know where my time was going. I also like that this app allows you to see what task was being focused on and how many breaks you took. It even lets you budget how much time you want to spend on a task and will tell you through percentage if you met that budget or not. Overall this app is great for someone who worries about not studying enough or studying too hard. I plan on buying the subscription for this app!
  • Why doesn't it even let me use the app until I sign up for the subscription

I'm so tired of subscription model productivity apps. I just need help and they're all trying to bleed me dry
  • Needs some additional features

Let me start by saying I love focus. I wrote 2 star review to get the developers attention because I am not sure how else to. That said, Focus is missing some critical features that would improve the user experience. Namely two that come to mind right away. First they need an easy way to submit feedback on the app. There should be a button on the bottom of the sidebar or something, so i don't have to leave a review. Second, they need to have a button on the timer page under today's tasks so i can add tasks if I need to without changing pages and going through a long process. Thanks.
