Filmic Legacy is available only to filmmakers who paid for Filmic Pro v6 before the 25th of August, 2022. It will continue to receive bug fixes but will not receive any new features.     I paid for access years ago and this app was great for a very long time. Now my access is limited or I can pay $1.99 a week.... stupid... I'm a casual user so this does not make sense for me. The features I used and paid for are now locked up in this $1.99 a week version... I want my initial payment refunded.

  • Yes, new subscription model is terrible, but you CAN download V6

    Just to be clear, as I’ve read some confused in the reviews, stating you must download a trial of version 7 to access version 6 legacy. That would not work obviously last the first trial week. So no, you do NOT need a free trial to download version 6 legacy. You can just hit the X, and exit out of the options to purchase a subscription, and enter the app, where there an option to download version 6. It’s not a very simple process, and it’s also not very clear. But it’s possible! And I will not be supporting this change in pricing, that went from a lifetime purchase of $20 to a yearly subscription of $50. Ani5er app of theirs, Focos live, had even more outrageous a change: it went from $15 for a lifetime purchase, to a $69 yearly subscription! I’ve seen this happen before with other apps, and they weren’t successful with the change and eventually changed their model again. Maybe this developer believes their customers are all using these apps in pro film production, and that they’ll fork out the price increase. As a filmmaker who uses pro film equipment and this for leisure, it just makes little sense to me. It’s not about being able to afford it even, but about a change that makes little sense for me as a consumer, and that I choose not to support. I would’ve gladly purchased a new version of these apps from time to time. But what amount to almost the subscription to adobe’s photography bundle (which I also don’t love…)? No, thank you.

    I can’t believe I paid for an app just the have it close on me all the time now on order to try to force me to get the new subscription version. This is an app that was paid for and suppose to be premium yet it advertises to you and closes for no reason other then to advertise to you when you open it up again. This company really is pathetic conmen and have no morals. I’d recommend any brand over Filmic.

    Bait and switch business model! I paid hard earned money for an app I rarely use. Even if I rarely use it I expect the same amenities to be there every time I use it otherwise it’s UNRELIABLE. To take features away from paying customers and put them behind a paywall just to reach further into someone’s wallet is downright shameful.

  • Pop-Ups Stop Recording…

    I went to record a two hour concert of a band that I haven’t seen in this area for eight years. Even though I had airplane mode on, cellular data off and the phone silenced, there were two times I got a pop-up about the v7 while I was recording and unknowingly lost 10 minutes or so before I realize I needed to push the record button again. i’m hoping it was just a glitch or a bug. Question: The next time I need to record something lengthy, can I subscribe to the V7 for that week and will it prevent pop-ups over on the V6 until the sub expires?? Thanks

    Review bomb the new app. The fact that they’re keeping the legacy app available for download is an excellent example to the industry that if you are going to charge for future updates, at least leave the existing version available.

    This is not a replacement for what we all paid for before you chose a perpetual subscription model. No on screen controls when recording? That was a core advertised feature, even the Apple native camera app can change lenses while recording.

    Your company should be sued to be honest. I paid $100 for the app bundle and features only for your company to make it subscription based less than a year later while leaving us with an app that will likely be less usable and more prone to exploits and vulnerabilities as time goes on. The least that your company, Filmic Pro, can do is give decent updates to the app (not updates that will break the app) from time to time. But you won’t even do that. One day some of you companies are going to learn the hard way. Do right by your customers. We made you.

    I keep missing shots when I open the app in airplane an ad pops up saying “special gift “ and wants me to buy Filmic Pro. I primarily use in airplane mode. This is disgusting and disappointing
