    this app makes me insecure. it seems like I rarely match with the kind of people I would date in real life, and when I do they just instantly lose interest. idk if it’s your algorithm putting me on the back burner after paying $50 a month or what but not too impressed

    I know my profile isn’t getting out there bc I have so many more likes on my other dating apps -it’s like night and day. Not sure why on this site theres relatively nothing.

    Account banned for no reason!!!! Ive been on the app for only two days, didn’t say or do anything suspicious, but got banned without any reason and everyone matched with me was notified of this. This really hurt the relationships that people want to build here. Bad!!!

    Culturally I was raised to never make the first move. And if I want more matches on this site, there’s nothing I can do but wait for people to like me. And it’s all because I will not send someone a rose nor will I like an aspect of their profile, before I know if they are interested in me. This site should provide options for many women in my age group who were raised to never make the first move. There is nothing wrong with allowing men to choose you and make the first move and people like me should not be discriminated against for our dating habits that are cultural.

    I have been on Hinge for a few years now, recently I got a email my account has been suspended and was given no reason. I emailed Hinge to give me a reason and no response. When Hinge sent me the email saying my account was suspended, the individual name they addressed the email to was not my name. Hinge has not giving me any answers and a reason why I was suspended, very frustrated!!

    The algorithm very quickly made obvious and strong assumptions about racial preferences for me - which I find quite disturbing and uncomfortable- but doesn’t seem capable of noticing political preferences or other patterns. Either add choices, or stop using the data in your suggestions. At least make your criteria publicly available. Right now it’s really creepy.

    As most people have said, Hinge is the best option you can find in the current dating environment for dating applications. With that being said, you’re still not going to get much out of it. I don’t know how many genuine accounts I’ve run into for my several months use of the application (paid mind you). You can see which ones are on there for advertisement pretty quick you don’t need to match with them. Same goes for people who are catfishing or using over the top glamorous pictures. All of that is pretty easy to spot. With that being said, even the ones who got through me trying to be decent with filtering and being meticulous about matching, still a ton get through. 95% of the women will stop talking after the first conversation after it hitting off super well, and pretty much all of them will have an excuse to not hang out or go on a physical date until 1-4 weeks out. I understand people can be busy, I understand patience and getting to know someone. But when it’s literally 95% plus and it’s like you go on 1 or 2 dates in the months of use, something is up. I feel like there are accounts or people being paid to talk to you but aren’t actually there to match date ect. It’s like secret shoppers for dating apps but it’s super consistent. Like they’re there to get you to match talk for a day and their job is done. Anyways. All of this to say there is definitely weird patterns to how the matches work. That doesn’t include the fact that I will match with a ton and then go literal weeks without any. It’s very selective. I matched with hundreds if not thousands of accounts in my time of use, I don’t consider myself bad looking and I have a lot going for myself. But the fact of the matter is that there is much more happening here and it prays heavily on single people. Please for the love of God do not use these applications. Edit: 4/16/24 - decided to redownload since I had an active multi month HingeX sub (Paid for $100 US). My account was banned by the morning. It appears a ton of other users had this happen as well with no resolution. I hadn’t even received any matches or conversations just had swiped on a few people before bed to wake up to my account being removed. Do not download.

    Read the headline and read it again. Because that’s what I did. I had the app for months, swiping as much as I could without paying, and got LITERALLY zero attention. My profile was filled out, I had pictures, everything looked good. I don’t have impossible standards either. Not one time did I get a match or even a swipe. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Thanks for wasting my time. Useless!
