This program is intutive. The first time I used it, I was working on getting a permit application for the city of West Palm Beach Florida. I was working on a dryer in the garage as that was the only part of the house that had power at the time. Nice look to the finished product. I am now using it to apply for a carport remodel to hopefully convert into a garage. I think the program will help make the ideas I have forthe project more clear than if I just drew it out on graph paper.

I am a pretty computer savvy person and this program was complicated just putting the walls in. We're planninng an addition on our home and I'm lookinng for somethign simple where I can plug in the walls and my fixtures. I was fine to study up on how to correctly use the app but after combing through the internet I couldn't find a single thing with how-to guides. No YouTube videos, writen tutorials, or even a website with helpful tips and tricks. I've wasted way too much time trying to figure it out, deleting this app and moving on.

Used on 10.14.6 Jan 2020. Bought this for a quite job based on all the positive reviews... not sure how these people were using it, but they must have had an even simpler floorplan than mine, and mine was quite simple... This app needs a A LOT of polish. I encountered many frustrations, principally 3: 1) Dimensions... if you can't get dimensions exactly where you want them in a floor plan app, does it even have a purpose? EVERY FLOOR PLAN PROGRAM NEEDS GRANULAR ADJUSTMENT OF DIMENSIONS and cannot have the user entered dimensions --automatically-- overridden by the program at every possible turn!!! This is the problem dear programmer: You cannot FORCE the dimensions to be 'pixel perfect' in scale down to the 1/4-inch... that's ridiculous. You need to allow dimensions to be entered (AND DRAGGED, even better nudged with an arrow key for better control in some situations) and NOT immediately override them because the pixel that represents a end-point or corner is at a "given location"... horrible... Adjusting the "scale" or the minimum values in preferences has disastrous effects on open documents because of this... 2) Objects DO NOT snap to rooms automatically in a proper fashion. If you should drage and Temporarily drop a room on top of another room, even if they are on DIFFERENT LAYERS, some of the doors and windows and measurement lines will unsnap!--then snap to the other room--!!! and then be pulled away with the wrong room when you move the rooms away from each!!!! Loki forbid you don't notice this rigth away and have to "undo" a bunch of work, which doesn't work perfectly either, which is the greatest bane of single-programmer graphic design apps, bar none, apparenlty on this app store. Oh, and don't be surprised when this bug crops up when all you do is a ADD A NEW room and all the fixtures of one "below" are ripped away and snapped to your new room... ugh... 3) Resizing a non-rectangular room with say two corners that have been "cut-in" creating 2 extra walls at each corner is next to impossible unless you get the main walls exactly how you want them before adjusting/adding the other walls and corners... BECAUSE it changes the dimensions of other walls in a way that doesn't make any sense, so you correct one wall, only to have it adjust a second wall!!! impossible! Well, aside from that Senator, the app got the "quick" job done with a disproportionate amount of frustration and time-wasting... of course, I don't foresee using it ever, ever again... At least it can export to PDFor EPS? This is a program that is so beautifully well-intentioned and has so much potential. For those who come after me, I seriously hope this developer continues to work on this program, UNPROMPTED, as there is more than enough work to do for it to be considered fully usable by even any amateur who might want to draw up a quick floor plan. If the dev fixes these and a handful of other minor issues, this program would be a gift to the world. Chuc Mung Nam Moi

This app gets the job done quite well, especially given its low cost relative to other software in the home design market. I'm giving 5 stars because this app fills a niche in marketplace and the developer was responsive to the single bug fix request we submitted.

It's adequate but I can't save any work. I get the beach ball and have to force quit.

For my needs, this app hits just the right balance of ease of use and power, and does it at an extremely reasonable price. FloorDesign has the accuracy to be able to get everything really to scale--not just eyeball sizes, but the sub-inch accurate measurements of a CAD program and useful features like set-and-forget wall thickness, while being intuitive enough to figure out just by playing around and experimenting. I had a to-scale model of my house put together in a modest amount of time and with a minimum of frustration. The app also has good layer support, which is a critical feature for me--I mapped out different features on different layers so I can hide or show them as needed. The UI is a bit cluttered, and some of the modal windows for editing parts are a bit awkward, but overall it doesn't feel like a Windows port, and it does what it needs to do. I wanted a way to map out my house's electrical wiring and estimate furniture sizes, but I could picture this app being good for just about any home-level architectural or room-layout need.
  • Used App For Several Building Projects

I am a novice at this app, still need to learn a whole lot of functions, but what I have learned so far has enabled me to layout plans for remodeling my home. I have made plans for constructing cabinets and layout of electrical plans. It is always better to layout plans on paper rather than keeping it in your head. I am thankful for the app because it has save me in material and time.
