The app will not allow me to make muscle selections by clicking on the model. Therefore, I have to go through the muscle list each time which slows down productivity.
  • does not include the mobile app

bought this on my imac thinking it would be available to download onto my phone. turns out the app i bought for $9.99 is strictly for desktop (who needs a workout app on their desktop?) To get the app on your phone is a separate purchase ($3.99.) Plus, despite being promoted on the app store and supposedly ranking in the top 10 in health and fitness, the last update was 9 months ago, support seems nonexistent, and the developer page links are dead. Not to mention, they have never submitted their privacy policy to the app store. something shady about all that. refund, please.

This app is absolutely amazing when it works. Currently the 3D model will not allow you to select any muscle and requires you to go though the list. This isn't much of a problem but rather a hassle. I partially use this to teach and for my own training. For me using the list of muscles is not much of a problem but to have my students those of whom do not fully understand skeletal muscle causes them to really struggle to grasp the location (origin and insertion points). As well as slows their learning process. I've currently have reached out to the creators and I'm hoping to hear feedback soon. If you are thinking of getting this app I'd would say probably best to look somewhere else. Once I get an update and this issue is resolved I'll submit an new review.

This app hasn’t received any updates since 2014. Navigation controls are not good and can be improved upon.

I’m not a doctor or physical trainer but being able to target the muscle that is giving you problems and then going to your therapist with an intelligent question…that makes it worth all the money and more. Also, when I’m running and want to target a certain muscle group this app really helps. I’ve been running competitively for 25 years and I wish i had this when I first started.

So far the app looks great. One drawback—cardio is an important aspect of fitness. I do not see any cardio presets (e.g. sprints, running, treadmill, etc) in the software yet. If it is there, assistance finding and using is greatly appreciated.

This app is very good like the other reviews state, with great graphics and animation as well as a lot of exercises. However, it is missing a few core features and could use a few others. First is that it doesn’t have cardio exercises. So when you are looking at a your progress you only see calories burned for stretching or weight training. Second is that it doesn’t sync across devices. I own all three versions (laptop, iPad and iPhone) and each has to be setup separately and what you record on one doesn’t sync to the others. The other features that would be great to add would be the ability add (i.e. purchase) packages that center on specific types of machines. For example my gym has Star Trac exercise equipment which has some variations on the exercise machines already provided in the app. To improve accuracy and tracking of my workout, I would purchase those types of add-ons. Additionally, it would be great to be able to add comments to each exercise or routine. I’d like to note difficulty or machine setting (which isn’t always weight) or how a stretch felt which I could use in my next workout. Finally, the ability to sync with other apps that provide additional reports and graphs would be great. I also use Training Peaks and would love to see my exercises on their calendar and included in their graphs as well as seeing the exercises I do there in your app (especially for tracking weight, calories burned, etc.) Note that I love all of the great 3D4Medical apps, having purchased many of them. I just think this one could be improved from very good.

iMuscle 2 is a must-have app if you wish to get the most out of your workouts. Know what muscles you are working, so that you can get a balanced workout. All 3D4Medical apps are very informative, thorough, and user-friendly. Plus if you have a question, technical support is quick to respond. Most recently, Nicola N. & Jeff R. have been really helpful. Thanks 3D4Medical for great products & the best team!
