  • New system kinda wonky

    I like this app just due to it being more accessible and affordable, but I have done every step and tried every way to upgrade my subscription and it will not let me. It even made me cancel my current subscription to start a new one and still won’t let me start, if I lose my whole subscription and years worth of progress I will be super upset. Also the audio player could use some serious bug fixes. However I have enjoyed years worth of reads on this app and would love to upgrade my review and continue using as long as I am able to re-subscribe, but seriously help a girl out.

    I love Everand! But it could be improved like when I wanna read a book or listen to a book. I go find it and it says it is a preview. I love Everland so much. It’s so great for me to read if I don’t have a book but if it’s not on there, then I can’t read it if they could change this it would be an amazing app.

  • Not what I signed up for!

    This will be my last month with this app. I used to promote this app hard on my Booktok and across my social media. I tried to rock with the new changes but I can’t do it. There is no banner that lets you know if the title requires unlocking. I haven’t come across one title that doesn’t require it. I also believe the credits should be able to roll over. I would have rather paid an increase in subscription to have to previous access over being limited to 3 titles a month. If we wanted Audible, we would have stayed there and not make the switch. At least they have a decent catalogue of audible exclusive titles where you don’t have to use credits to listen.

    I missed the old Scribd/everand. It helped me to expand my love of reading and audio books. I miss it being unlimited and willing to pay more for the original format compared to this audible knockoff. There’s gotta be a better way

    I really do love this app and their wide variety of books both in the unlock sections but also in the unlimited section. When I use up my monthly limit (max 3 unlocks), the unlimited section offers a great selection. However, I wish there was an option for more unlocks. I always max out within 2 weeks and would pay more to have at least 2-3 more audiobooks a month.

    I wanted to love this, even thought I’m not a fan of the model that requires you to keep paying if you don’t want to lose unlocked titles. It’s pretty stingy in what’s available for a subscription. Plus, there’s no list of unlocked books and the UI is not intuitive. I sampled a book, unlocked it, then it refuses to play after the end of the sample. I’m totally fed up and have cancelled, so now I’ve list access to books I paid for. Don’t waste your time - get Libro.fm for audiobooks and bookshop.org for ebooks

    I will change my rating when I can search for “unlimited” only tiles by genre. It is nearly impossible to find unlimited only tiles. You can sort unlimited books in very limited ways. Like you can enter an author’s name and sort unlimited books or key words but not by genre or even just random “unlimited” books. It’s very annoying trying to find the free books that are available.

    Not only does the app glitch often and stop books that have already been downloaded to buffer but downloading is extremely slow. It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of internet you’re on. Additionally if you don’t have internet it’s almost impossible to open the app which makes no sense since books are supposed to be available offline. The only thing it had going for it previously was an unlimited access to books which has recently changed. Now you can pay for 1 credit or 3 for premium books. Really disappointing app. I have subscribed and cancelled my subscription more than once hoping there have been improvements but so far it only seems to be getting worse. If you go through and read even the 5 star reviews they state similar issues. It baffles me people would give the app 5 stars and then go one to list all the things that are wrong with the app. The 4.4/5 rating is very misleading and frankly inaccurate.

    I actually prefer the new structure because I know what I’m getting now. I feel like there is more availability of the books I want to read and I know if I am unlocking them or if it’s one that’s just included. Before, I never knew when I was going to get cut off. However, I am experiencing a problem with the search function in my saved books. If I try to filter my searches to opt out of seeing any books I have already read, the whole app freezes. This has been going on for months. I use a fairly new iPhone, and my app does not say it needs to be updated. I really would like this feature to work.

    I tried getting the free subscription but when it didn’t work for either 11.99 or 16.99 I cancelled the subscription so I couldn’t get charged but when I looked in my bank app I had been charged for both so it wasn’t free like the app said. I lost $30.72 from this app and it doesn’t work so I lost $30.72 for an app that doesn’t work. I would understand if I was charged for changing the plan but it wouldn’t be $30.72 it would be less than that.
