Ever since this changed to “Everand” from Scribd I’ve had problems with the app not opening and immediately crashing. Takes several times to open and then once open often won’t load my book

If I could find an app that has this many audio books I would ditch this app in a hot second. Constantly have to clear the cache and close and reopen. The app crashes constantly it’s awful. The only good thing is the selection except you run into limits and they won’t tell you which ones count against your limit and which don’t. This is hanging on the edge of being cancelled forever.
  • Screen color options

Would love to give this 5 stars. The selection is incredible. However, the only options I get for screen color is black. I’ve changing between light and dark mode on both iPhone and iPad and both are the same. If I change the app to the “light” options, it’s still a black screen with either dark blue or red text which is basically unreadable. I don’t really enjoy reading on a black screen with white text. If this gets fixed it’s definitely a 5 star for me.

This is by far the best reading app I had used… before. Now I’ll be in the middle of an audiobook, and it inexplicably says I can’t listen to the other half of the book for a month because I “reached my limit.” Apparently, the limit is one and a half audiobooks. Now I have to wait a month to finish a book. This happens al the time now- at least let me finish the book. I don’t know why the audiobooks are broken into parts anyway- very frustrating. At least warn people they won’t be able to finish what they start. You have no idea till you hit this imaginary limit on some books but not others. The developer responded with this boiler plate answer that is not an explanation at all: “Your library rotates based on your reading activity.” -that is not information. What is the limit? How do I know when I am close to it? What books are limited? How do I know what is limited? It is frustrating not to get any answers. Also the response points to section 3 which states, “ Some Subscription Content may not be immediately available to the small percentage of users that consume an unusually high volume of Subscription Content.’ So…. One and HALF audiobooks is “unusually high volume”????? Pathetic Also, I read one light novel (graphic novel), and it wouldn’t let me read the second in the series. ONE light novel is “unusually high volume”???? Come on…. By the measure you violate your own terms of service.

  • Good content, annoying buffering

I like the variety of content but the having to close the app every time you pause an audiobook for more than 3 minutes is incredibly frustrating! It says it’s buffering but it never reconnects. I have to close and reopen to un-pause. Also, a bit of intuition or at least listing book in series order would be a big plus!

    By yeah so there's that
I loved Scribd and I am trying to love Everand. Being that a lot of my life is without WiFi or cell signals, it is frustrating that even what I have downloaded is not accessible without a signal. On a plane? Off grid? Power company burn your town down cuz you live in California which means cell towers and infrastructure are taking way too long to replace or repair? Sorry no books for you. No netflix, no tv, I just want to read!!! Update 05/27/2024 open app to a no signal error message when connected to WiFi.

This app is not easy to navigate while browsing or searching. It does have a good selection of audiobooks. The reason for the three star review is because the app is glitchy. While listening to audiobooks on my iPhone, it stops playing, and requires me to log in again.
