  • Works great for small JSON files

As others have said. I highly suggest turning off the "autocomplete" preference as it isn't smart enough to actually autocomplete. Just immediately adds another set of quotes any time you type a quote, even if you are adding the closing quote. Now you have to deal with the extra one that shouldn't have been there in the first place. That said, I keep it around and use it for small files for years.
  • Nice for small files - not for large files

This is a very nice editor but the UI hangs when processing and making changes to large json files.

I liked the interface, and it worked great for a while. Then, it stopped working, even after reinstalling. Too bad!
  • Great - except quotes

This has been a pretty great app in general for editing JSON files. In the last couple versions, I've noticed whenever I type a quote, it automatically changes to smart quotes instead of just straight quotes, which makes it bad JSON...
  • Good tool to view and manipulate JSON

I've been using this tool for a few years now. It saves me tons of time when I'm debugging something related to JSON. I can pull JSON from a log and paste it into JSON Power Editor and then it is easy to navigate to the relevant data. Very full featured and refined. Highly recommended.

Great app,but this app does not work well for large JSON files and gets the OSX circle of death for JSON files over 1MB.
  • Great app…for small files.

This app is critical to my business, and I am very glad I purchased it. However it appears the app is not optimized for multiple cores, if I 20-40mb JSON file, it takes minutes to do any operation, even on an iMac Pro. I would really love if the developer improves multiple core and single core performance and would easily update this to 5 stars.
  • It’s OK, but a little buggy

It can beautify JSON but then it can’t alwasy match up the JSON with the node you select.

I can’t copy and paste text into this. As a result, I can do nothing useful with it.

This app has been broken since October. If you work with multipe large JSON files > 1MB each, the application poorly handles memory and thread management. The app hangs my entire mac with spinners as the app consumes 100% of the foreground process, while destroying and saving the data. Greeeeaaaaat! I lost 1/2 of my morning tracking down a payload destroyed by this pile. I’ve submitted bug reports, but the dev can’t reproduce - if they don’t try. What I used to say when it worked: Awesome tool! A MUST for JSON developers!!! Hands down, this is the best JSON preview app available for OS X! Buy it! This developer is very responsive to bug reports! Thank’s for fixing: Show duplicates in objects - a saver for iOS 5.x Json compatibility! Power JSON Editor has proved itself to be an invaluable part of our team's code production pipeline….
