First time overseas and was recommended this app through multiple YouTube channels and they were right. Public transport was my biggest worry and this app made it simple.

There used to be an active compass widget that you could add. This was so useful! Please bring it back 🙏

  • Great app but hate the calorie detail

My favorite thing about this app is that it has an option to select a quieter biking path! Love that. My biggest concern is that it automatically tells you how many calories that would be burned by walking or biking a certain route. I tried to turn this off in settings, but I don’t see that as an option. The calorie count should be removed. It is… - Misleading. Calorie burning is different for everybody, and these numbers are more inaccurate than anything else. - Harmful. A lot of people in modern-day culture have a very fraught relationship with the concept of calories in food, a concept which has largely been used for fear-mongering and marketing. It is harmful to be confronted with this rhetoric in a transportation app. - Not physically meaningful. The number of calories in a food is how much energy will be released if you set it on fire. That is not what is happening in a body during metabolism.
  • Disappointed in Tokyo

Used the app a few years ago when in Tokyo and it was fantastic. This recent trip, not so much. Relied on Google maps for transit directions with excellent results. Citymapper routes took long with more connections and lots more walking compared to Google maps. Some lines missing completely on Citymapper. Not sure what has happened.
  • Doesn’t end the trip -wastes battery

City mapper needs to figure out why their app doesn’t stop when the user repeatedly closes the application at the destination. Very annoying. Otherwise the app is perfect.
