  • Requires you share ALL photos

Idk about you, but I was always taught to only share what you need to. No app should require you to share EVERYTHING in order to function. If limited is an option it should work. Why have that as an option if it doesn’t work?

Before this, there were like no good professional iPad apps. Now with Final Cut it makes me feel better with my purchase! This app is honestly great, and works perfectly! Some of the features are different from Mac, but it's mostly the same!

It would be very nice to add Logic Pro and Final Cut to the Apple One Premier Plan as options, personally, I am someone who does not need News or Fitness Plus so it would be more enticing to swap them with something I would be more interested in using.
  • The app keeps crashing on my videos

I am editing 1–3 long video clips (with separate audio) and attempting to export one final video, about 20–30 minutes long, from the project. These are unscripted videos where I need to remove an obscene number of um’s and dead space. The app continues to crash once I’ve edited about 10+ minutes of video content. It continues to crash every couple minutes thereafter. After suffering my way through editing the rest of the video editing process (with crashes every couple minutes), the export process crashes. Every time. I’ve tried restarting my iPad, disconnecting external devices, starting from scratch, testing out the demo project (which works fine). I’m using the newest 12-inch iPad Pro, and I have no idea what’s wrong.

Been a final cut user for over a decade. I bought fcpx outright, and would need to subscribe to this separately. Couldn’t even find out the price for this until I downloaded the app. No trial, nothing. Just a big rude paywall greeting. I feel disrespected as a consumer. Please go back to one-time pricing models, and be upfront about costs.

  • Good but I’m still giving it a BIG fail

Final Cut is a big fail and I’ll stick to Lumafusion because when I went to continue testing Final Cut I could not continue an edit because my IPad Pro wasn’t connected to the internet. I am a new Final Cut editor testing out the editing app and comparing it to Lumafusion to see if I want to make the switch. At first I wasn’t sure what was happening since the only message was that I needed to subscribe to edit. I am already a subscriber and on a plan. Then I had a idea that FC wants access to the internet at all times. I fired up my hotspot and BAM Final Cut noticed that I am a subscriber and allowed me back into my project. What the heck Apple? I do not keep my IPad connected 24hours a day. Sometimes I want to edit a project offline or the internet is down like it was this morning. There is no way you can not program Final Cut to remember a subscriber when not connected to the internet. What I do like is the very basic masking tools in Final Cut. I wish at LumaFusion had some masking. However, getting locked out of a project because I’m not on the internet makes Final Cuts masking worth nothing. Update: Now that I’m offline again FC it is accepting my subscription. However, the fact that it locked me out in the first place is unacceptable. Other things I do not like are horizontal editing only, keyframes are placed strangely in the bottom corner away from the actual effects and movements, where is a real EQ for audio??? This program has been out for a while and yet it still has a unfinished feel to everything. I’m going to uninstall until the next update and then revisit FC. I do like the app especially with it’s masking options but it has a long way to go before it catches up to Lumafusion or DaVinci Resolve.

For spending my energy and money on a tablet that’s equivalent in OS as a MacBook Air m2 - You’d expect to not be limited on trivial things such as this, but every penny still gets pinched.
  • Unstable

I'm really happy to have the addition of voice over, but this version is very buggy. As I'm editing, random video clips no longer appear, or some audio won't play. It seems to often get into a bad state and the only way to recover is to force quit and restart the app.
  • No Selection on Playhead or clip Stabilization.

The fact that you can’t edit with your keyboard while on the timeline without having to tap on the screen on every clip individually and to top it off not having clip stabilization makes this an unusable editing experience for me. I cannot comprehend how these decisions were made. I wish I didn’t subscribe for the year. This isn’t something that should be resolved in some future update. Clip selection on playhead and stabilization needs to be added NOW.
