  • Better than crossing names off a spreadsheet but still plagued by issues.

    I had used the old app several years ago when it was a flat fee. I switched over to the app run by the self-proclaimed Professionals because I could import custom ranking lists that I use for cross-reference during the draft (a feature which was always missing from this app and I was disappointed to see that it is still the case). I decided to try again this year because of how much I enjoy The Audible and trust Sigmund & Cecil and I wanted to support the endeavor. (Although it doesn’t appear that they’re involved with the information that features in the app). I wasn’t crazy about having to go the subscription route but I waited to purchase until I could cover my draft and the first round of games and waivers with a month of service. That helped increase the value, if it was draft only I don’t know if I would’ve shelled out the cash. However, the IDP support isn’t great; which is especially frustrating given that it costs extra to get. It isn’t my fault that there are so many kindergarten leagues out there who don’t know anything about defense. The app’s basic non-understanding about Edge rushers and which DBs can plug into a CB slot render it completely useless. Again, why am I paying extra for that? It’s certainly buggy. My draft app wasn’t showing me LB rankings correctly. I contacted customer support about it and I did hear back from the developers that they were working on it. I didn’t worry about it because my draft was 2 weeks away at the time. It never got fixed. Additionally I learned at the draft that a league-mate using the same app was having the same issue… but with Safties. Definitely not worth the extra for IDP, which is half of any self respecting league’s roster. This would’ve been much less of an issue if the app allowed for importing custom rankings, but we’ve already covered that it’s a feature that doesn’t exist. I do love The Football Guys and I wanted to support them but I didn’t get anything additional out of this app to justify it and I lost out on some important features. I’m pretty sure I’m going back to the other app next year. It has its own issues and bad IDP support as well… but at least I know how to work around it.

  • Brutally difficult to add an ESPN league - but customer support was great

    I’ve been using Draft Dominator for 7 years and have the winning record in my league. I love it! I’m not sure what happened this year but I can’t load my league through the app but have to go to a computer, then use Chrome, then download the Football Guys Chrome extension. Are you for real? Well, I did all that. Now I’m there and it says to click on “the button below to refresh the page to login” to my provider but there isn’t a button below. I’ve got 24 hours to get this resolved in time for my draft. This is NOT a good experience this year! edit - I was able to get set with my ESPN league in time for my draft. Customer support was quick to respond and very helpful. I’d give 3 stars due to the difficulty level this year, I should be able to do everything on the app and wasn’t, but the Football Guys haven’t let me down with a quality draft for years now and I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully next year will be much smoother and I’ll be back with a 5 star review.

    I’ve use this app for years, even before there was a Phone app. In an era where everyone else live syncs with the draft I still need to enter my picks manually. I still give this three stars because of all of the customizations and the fact that it’s still the best for value-based drafting, but live draft sync needs to happen.

  • Charging for a Sloppy App

    Been a user for 5+ years and rarely had issues but now I suddenly can’t log into the app, can’t see my Pro status and the entire football guys website is down so I can’t get any help. What a waste, guess I’ll head elsewhere.

  • Tech has really suffered

    I’ve used DD for the past 10 years but their tech has started to deteriorate, been poorly executed and is downright awful now. Left me high and dry on draft night because it cannot import ESPN leagues. Attempted their work around with chrome extension (is this 2005?) and get errors every time. Please refund me my subscription fees paid.

    I've been a loyal user of the Draft Dominator and League Dominator apps for many years, consistently achieving success and even winning my leagues with them. This year, I was fortunate to secure the 3rd overall pick, but unfortunately, Draft Dominator and the ESPN app didn't work together. Nevertheless, I had a fantastic draft on my own in a 12-man league, selecting Ja'Marr Chase at 3rd and Patrick Mahomes at 22nd. The ongoing issue is that the ESPN app still isn't functioning, even just a week before kickoff. Looking ahead, the prospects for next season are uncertain because I initially purchased the Draft Dominator app for my iPhone (on autopay). However, I wanted to use it on my new iPad, so I ended up buying it again with the intention of using it specifically with the ESPN league apps information. So, I'm already down over $140, and sadly, I wasn’t able to start or complete a single draft.

    With the troubles they have importing ESPN leagues, this is a glorified excel spreadsheet for $10!!! You have to manually add it your league right now and it doesn’t even sync from the web browser to the app, causing double the work for what you paid a lot for. I told myself last year I was done using this app due to the cost but gave it one more shot. Never again.

  • Split Screen not supported for iPad ?

    Can’t use the app in split screen mode on my iPad. Says it’s not supported. Also, my leagues have IR slots and this draft app can’t cope with that making things not as compatible as I’d like. When running a mock draft using my league settings it keeps suggesting positions I’ve already filled and would have zero chance of drafting. App seems less intuitive than previous years. One plus is their player news is updated well.
