You can customize notifications and motion detection zones, so you only get the alerts you want. With a Roku Smart Home subscription, you can unlock cloud storage and view motion-triggered recordings for up to 14 days. Also included in the subscription is smart detection, which identifies people, pets, packages, and cars and allows you to filter alerts—so you only get the ones you decide are important.* Home security has never been this easy. It’s not enough to just buy a camera. You have to buy everything and if you don’t have the money for that then screw off I guess because that’s how this treats you. I’ve had a Vandalizer/my tires three times in front of this camera and it did not record it once despite putting in the settings. don’t waste your time because all you’re doing is pay to keep screwing you over and you just get to watch it and I guess.

The app locked me out and is demanding a phone number to “authenticate “ I’m not giving them my number to sell off to data brokers just to turn on a light.

  • 2-Factor Authentication Needs Choices

I can appreciate your wanting to elevate the level of safety/security for Roku Smart Home app subscriber accounts/assets, but in deciding to make two-factor authentication mandatory, and limited to only one phone/text number (no secondary/alternate back up number) did you consider: -People with wireless family share plans where multiple family members (with multiple phone numbers) need to log in to the app? I can't think of an upside to this scenario. I have/had two-factor authentications like this, and they're a pain and pretty inconvenient for family members (with secondary phone numbers) who need to quickly log in to the account/app, as well as for the person in the group who has the primary number. That person may not always be in a position to respond with a text, call, or email to give the other family member the code. -The fact that things happen? Phones die, get lost, lose cell signals, can be inadvertently silenced, etc. .. Yes, having email as a back up helps with some of this, but the fact of the matter still applies; things also happen with email. I think that - if you are paying attention to the feedback about this, you might notice a recurring theme; most people don't like to be on the receiving end of unilateral decisions without any options. Just sayin'.
