  • Best design app for iPad, but useless for exports

I switched from Adobe to Affinity years ago and haven’t really looked back. That said, the iPad version of Affinity Designer’s export persona is worse than useless. You can choose any file type you want, but no matter what you pick, you’re going to get a 1x png. You could hand-export every asset you want from the file → export menu, but anyone who has had to prep out multiple colors and file types of a single logo knows how hellish and what a waste of time that would be. Exporting needs to be perfect, and the fact that it isn’t kind of undermines the rest of the app and makes me feel frustrated and like I need to go back to burning my money on an Adobe subscription just for competent file exports. This needs to be fixed asap.

This app is great. I love how it is a one time purchase rather than a subscription, while still having great and detailed features. The only wish I have for it is that it could have the main UI in 16x9 on an external monitor. Great app!!

Horrible on the iPad. The art board is all over the place and you can’t move it back into frame. Literally not usable.

This is the answer to Adobe CC. Love the fact that they are non subscription. Hopefully that wont change with Canva obtaining them. I know they have long to go but your imagination and creativity make up for the missing features (and I’m sure they will be coming) Affinity Publisher/Designer/Photo are good apps on your desktop and iPads and now that they will be part of Canva, sky’s the limit!

I’ve used adobe for years and and years and years, which is a good product also, but AFFINITY is just a way better value. It’s paid for.

Thank you to Serif for creating such an AMAZING software! Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are the BEST graphic design and illustration softwares on desktop and iPad Pro! Thank you!

Until they put a “deselect” option on the Quick Menu. I’m left-handed, and where they have it now, it adds to my work hours.

Arabic is still not supported, do you intend to stay like this? I like this application very much, but it does not support Arabic.
  • Affinity does it again.

I’ve been using Affinity’s suite of tools on the iPad and macOS since they were in beta and they’ve not let me down yet. Designer 2 is a fast, robust tool that is a no-brainer for any creative looking to do serious work on an iPad. Highly recommended.

Very good program for main alternative to illustrator and is not expensive.
