The app doesnt recieve messages correctly and uses too much battery and other system resources.
  • MFA does not work at all

I require an SMS passcode with MFA to login, and not only does it make me do it twice (first time on the web, second time in the app) but there is no retry button and 99% of the time it wont actually send the SMS passcode.
  • Connection? What connection?

The app works, for a little bit, then it forgets that I have an internet connection. This endures until I just quit using it for a long while, where the cycle begins again allowing me to use it for a few minutes, then forgetting that I have an internet connection, rendering it useless. I'm sorry, but I didn't download this for it only to work a fraction of the time.

  • Broken

Can't send images now. Lots of others are having the same issue according to a quick online search - no solution despite several updates since the problem started. But..., it's "New! Messenger has a new look and more ways to connect with friends." according to the release notes added to every update for the last few YEARS - while actually the UI is old and hasn't been updated for years. That's how much the developers at Meta don't give a hoot about Messenger (doesn't make enough money for them) so they don't even pretend to care.
  • Impossible to download

It's impossible to even download this app. I used to have access, but then it won't let me update but is also requiring me to update. Therefore, it appears I may never regain access to this app on my macbook. I guess I need to find a different chat platform.
  • Secondary Messenging App

I love how Facebook Messenger acts as a sort of a texting feature for Facebook users and has very unique features that I have only found on the platform and nowhere else available.
  • Very flawed app

I have used Messenger on iPad, iPhone, and iMac for four years. It no longer functions on the newest MacBook Pro with Sonoma 14. There is no use for this app until it is corrected for the newest technologies.
