  • Liking it a lot so far

I have only downloaded this a few hours and I am liking a lot of functionality and UI so far. The only two things truly I am missing is the ability to move around accounts order so I can see my credit cards first as well as on the dashboard page a widget to show my credit card current balance, statement balance, and due dates. Will see a few weeks on the connection and auto categorizations.

A friend recommended this. I had been using Quicken to budget for a few years and this is WAY better. (I had used Quickbooks for about 10 years for business and it did a great job with payroll, accounts payable, tax statements, etc. and was amazing.) Updates in Monarch to accounts are automatic in the background. Everything is easy, although I have a business background. It’s clear the difference between cash flow, income, expenses, net worth, and budget. Often people don’t understand the difference so maybe not everybody would get it. I love it, though. As an example of how comprehensive it is, I even have my car loan linked which declines every time I make a payment. The desktop version projects out ten years. Kudos to the programming team!♥️

Begrudgingly downloaded Monarch when I was forced off of Mint but pleasantly surprised with just how great it is with every feature I wanted and even things that I didn’t even know I wanted. I’ve tried numerous of the other budgeting apps but settled on this one because it’s the best: most aggregators, beautiful UI, intuitive interface, rich customization, meaningful notifications, and great reporting. I’m happy to use Monarch now and it may very well be, dare I say it, better than the GOAT that was Mint.

Former Mint User that transitioned to Monarch. Thrilled I made the move. It’s worth paying for. Been seamless and a better functioning application than Mint.
  • Works okay, needs constant corrections

I don’t like this app, but there aren’t better ones now that Mint is gone. It always has transactions reappearing and duplicating. You MUST track and remember your expenses or you will miss something that the app handles incorrectly. It’s just not a good app, but it’s what I have to use.

Monarch adds new features and listens to customer feedback. This is better than Mint and worth the subscription price.

  • Great Net worth & Investment Tracker, but not for budgeting

Since Mint got shut down, I looked across the internet for a personal finance alternative that does more than just budgeting since I also have investments. I’d consider myself to be pretty well literate when it comes to finance. Easily connects with accounts. My main issue with Monarch is that budgeting functionality and UX isn’t simple both on the site and app. I don’t understand the swirly signs, which is supposed to indicate rollover from budget of last month. Wish budget area was more digestible the way Mint was.
