I imported an image and no matter what settings or presets I used, nothing looked like the presets and examples in the demos. The manual gave me some hope, but I ended up with bizarre shapes that looked NOTHING like the original image.

I had high hopes for using this program with my new drawing tablet after watching someone's Youtube tutorial. Normally I use Adobe products, but my older suite will not work on my newer computer. For the last 6 hours or so, I have been trying to draw ONE face and not even a super realistic face: just a cartoony one and so much has me frustrated right now. When I try to use the eraser, rather than get rid of what I want, it is somehow swelling up the entire line to about 100 times its size! I try to enter hex codes for the colors that I want and when I try to draw, it reverts back to the previous color. After many tries, it suddenly worked even though I hadn't done anything different than before. That only worked once. It has cooperated since. When I start a new project, the pen/brush tool automatically defaults to an aqua color rather than black and it cannot be changed, which is stupid! The same thing happened with the project that I was working on. After closing it and then reopening it, the default color was no longer black, even though I had only used black. Now the only color that is accessible is that same aqua. This makes no sense! Plus, I can only use 3 of the node selections. The bottom 6 don't work at all. They can't even be selected. So I am not able to add nodes as needed, which is the number one purpose that I have for using the node selector panel. I've read mentions of there being a full version and the person's whose video I watched said the same. However, when I'm in the App store, although it says that there are in-app purchases, when clicked, it still shows that the app is Free $0.00. So if the additional nodes aren't available because I need the paid version, then where is that? And secondly, why not make that clear to users by putting a lock or a callout over the features so people clearly know that they are only available with the paid version? It just doesn't make sense to me that a developer would want to confuse and frustrate people instead of just being straight about what can and can't be done using the free version. As for the other two issues that I mentioned, those can't possibly be related to the version being used. They are outright functionality issues. Changing colors and erasing should be so basic and simple. There should be nothing to figure out or upgrade to for something so common and trivial. I don't know if these things were programmed this way with the purpose of frustrating people into buying the upgraded version for a better user-experience, but if the free version doesn't work right, why would someone want to spend money on a questionable upgrade that might function just as poorly?

VectorQ is amazing. I was having trouble with the video, but the bugs were fixed super quickly. 10/10

No drop shadow option in version 1.0.8. Export quality great. Overall very good software.

I got this app for free with a 30 day trial. It gave me enough time to decide if I liked it. And price is excellent. Good value for only $8! It is a little hard for me to learn because I am used to Apple Pages App for artwork. BUT I am able to distort and "morph" lettering which I cannot do on Pages. I can "export" to PNG and use the file on Pages. It will ask me to save the Vector Q file which is good. I was able to email with a question AND Mr. Rivas wrote me back! Great companion for my Apple Pages. Keep up the good work and I know if I have any more questions they will be answered!!!!

Using this app in my workflow of image - to - stencil is really handy. I love the iPad version as well. Worth every penny. Keep up the good work Luis Rivas!
