  • A pain to use

The idea of the app is great. I’m not sure how up to date everything is. I hate the pop up adds on the free version. You can’t get out of them. It’s not worth paying $20 for the pro version. I can just look up the info myself.
  • Too many ads

The free version is impossible to use as videos keep popping up every time you try to scroll through. They take up the entire screen.

I am new to veganism and this app has been incredibly helpful! I love the personal touch that is added to each post.

Vegan options on the go - be it on the road stopping at a chain restaurant or flying across the country and navigating airports. Been using this app for about six months now - whenever flying and stopping at various airports and also driving around and trying out chain restaurants. The info you get in the free app is what you need to navigate so many different menus and options at places you may not have tried before. Fairly easy to navigate, up to date, and complete information about menus and options for vegans. Solid and helpful app. Four stars only because of some ads that take over the screen. Maybe I should upgrade to the ad free version, then rate it as a five star?
  • Search feature needed

I appreciate this app so much. The amount of time I can save figuring out whether there are any vegan options I'll actually want to eat between various restaurants when I'm out running errands, out with friends, or on work travel is fabulous. The one glaring issue for me is that there is no search feature. For the restaurant tab, if a restaurant im looking for starts with a letter later in the alphabet, I have to scroll for days to get down the page to determine if it's even listed in the app, sometimes to discover that it isn't. I think this one feature would massively improve user experience. I've got a background in UX, so if the developers would like any help or insight, let me know.

Love this app and they have responded to inquiries quickly. It’s hard to keep up with all the changes. This vegan (wfpb too) loves it.
  • Exactly what I was looking for

This app is exactly what I needed since I spend time with a lot of non-vegans, and we go to a lot of chain restaurants. I am paying the annual fee, which is not that much, just so that I always have this handy.
  • Must have for airports

This app is fantastic for airports. I love how things are arranged by terminal so it makes it easy to find options on tight connections. Happy cow is great in cities, but this one is a must have for venues.
  • Atrocious!

This is an instant delete for me. I downloaded this app thinking I was downloading something useful. Literally the first thing I prompted to is to pay! Absolutely no preview of what it is that I’m paying for. I’m supposed to trust that worth a yearly subscription. Nonsense! I’ll stick to HappyCow!

As far as the free version is concerned, it’s a pretty great app. It writes out like a blog by people that care about your experience. They make sure to keep most if not all locations updated for the current year. VeggL can be useful if you’re not interested in going through all of these businesses’ menus. It could also be useful when picking between different restaurants without having to go to each website separately. Some of the reviews say it would be just as easy doing a google search. True to an extent. When it comes to McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Burger King, yes you can just look it up. Of course. But when it comes to locations such as the airports, theme parks, and more obscure restaurants, it could come in handy. As much as I would love to pay for a premium version, I don’t think there is much of a reason to do so. You have everything you actually *need* in the free version. A couple of ads (which I don’t even notice) and slightly slower loading times aren’t really that stressful. I would suggest giving some sort of bigger incentive to pay for premium.
