Autio answers the questions we all ask as the odometer turns. ABOUT AUTIO Humans are moved by stories. Stories that make us laugh and cry. They move us to come together and do amazing things. Since the dawn of time, stories have been the way in which values and knowledge are passed from one generation to the next — each adding their wisdom and experience along the way. It’s time to connect with the sum of our experience, to enrich our lives with the stories of today, and to inspire the great storytellers yet to come.

  • Really interesting stories

Well designed app with really interesting stories. It’s a freemium subscription model, though, which may not be obvious to all. Decent value to me, though.

I guess I’ll post this again?? I’d give this negative stars if I could. The app has deceptive advertising and poor UX/UI. The stories are not user generated and might as well be someone reading a Wikipedia article about something to you. Pressing the pause button skips to the next story and there’s no way to escape the subscription page, forcing you to close the app.
  • Leftist drivel

This was good when it was Hear Here, but it’s taken a “long march through the institutions” (iykyk) hard turn into leftist racial lecturing. If I wanted to hear that I’d walk into Berkeley’s latest drum circle. I don’t want to pay to listen to screeching Marxists, that’s what the university system is for.

I accidentally signed up and now I have something I dont want for a year! Why can I nit cancel after 1hour, just finding out I have a subscription! Boooo!
  • Lousy use of CarPlay

Notifications don’t work in CarPlay, and it should suggest stories within a radius of your location. It should also work with Maps to navigate to the point of interest being talked about. All these things were promised in the YouTube video, but don’t work in CarPlay. I want my money back!!
  • We love the content

Unfortunately the app was super glitchy. We were disappointed to not be able to use it on our trip!
  • Wrong pronunciations and facts

Many of the names and locations local to us were mispronounced, and some of the stories were not correct. It made me doubt the accuracy of all the stories I was not familiar with.
  • Wishing for a Little More…

I love hearing all the stories when I drive but wish there was a little more… - stories that don’t repeat - stories that align with the direction I’m driving. -stories that are near where I’m driving and not 100 miles away in a direction that I am not driving -stories that are told before I’ve passed an area and not 1 hour later -stories that automatically load into the app so I’m not playing with the app while I drive I drive to many unique places. The stories make the places I drive by much more interesting , plus keeps me alert. But the app is also clunky and non intuitive. So many times I’ve stopped listening because I can’t mess with the app while I drive.

It will only work sporadically. A waste of money
  • Better than the old AAA books!

I love having this app tell me about the places I’m passing. The stories are just long enough, super diverse and always interesting. Can’t live without it now.
