Love this app, and how it can be used across platforms to manage passwords

It's a password manager where you control your own destiny. Since it's an open file format (used by the venerable KeePass project), you can take it with you to other platforms and other software. We should expect no less. I do wish wifi-sync worked more like a sync option instead of just upload/download, but overall it's quite good.

I have been a keepass user for quite some time now, and since swtiching to Mac and iOS, strongbox has carried the torch for all my password management. the integration with iCloud is really helpful for a universal password bank!

Been using this for a few years coming from a PC and was looking for a KeyPass compatible password manager. This syncs with Dropbox and allows me to backup my passwords on a USB drive too. Amazing little app and have zero issues! The iOS app is also worth the money!

The user interface and overall user experience needs to be more thoroughly tested and refined to bring it closer to the 1Password experience. This has the potential to solve the 1Password dilemma for those of us who need to jump ship since the 1PW devs have betrayed our trust more frequently than we like... but please work on simplifying and refining the experience so that it's at parity with 1Password function. Also please add named sections support to facilitate full importation of all information since this has been used by some of us heavily and also prevents usage.
  • An excellent KeePass app

Another 1Password refugee here -- I just could not accept having to move my most secure personal information to the cloud, so after years on that app I went looking for an alternate. I found it in the KeePass format. I looked at a lot of MacOS KeePass apps and I was really impressed with Strongbox. Solid range of features and highly polished. The 1Password import was invaluable to me, as I had hundreds of entries to bring over to the new system. Very happy with Strongbox. I just set it to find all the favicons for all the site entries and it went off with nary a hitch.

Looking for a 1password replacement, and this is the closest, if it didn't corrupt attached documents.
  • Great Apple KeePass application

I have used KeePass for many years mostly on Windows. Once moving to Apple IOS and MacOS, I needed an application to access my KeePass database. I found Strongbox versions for both IOS and MacOs and all use a common database in iCloud for sychronization. Strongbox encrypts the database and Apple encrypts it again when stored on the iCloud. I appreciate continued development on the application.

Works extremely well with Dropbox, seamless integration between MacOS and my iPhone. No nonsense, very nice to use

The app lets you write notes for a given entry which is great. It even let's you highlight/select those notes. But guess what happens if you CMD C and CMD V that "selected" note into let's say a message or email. That's right, you just copy pasted your PASSWORD into a whatsapp message instead of the note you had highlighted. Better hope you can delete that message quickly, or change you password. What a horrible "feature".
