  • WebNovel causes phone to overheat

    I have an iPhone 13. I can watch videos or play games for 10-12 hours a day on a single charge. Or I can open WebNovel and watch my battery drop by the minute as my phone heats up to the point I’m uncomfortable holding it. I’m not sure how much data needs to be stolen and sold to other countries but I’m fairly sure they have enough on me by now. I open WebNovel and in an hour of reading go from 100% to 40%. I close WebNovel and stream a 2 hour movie and I still have 35%. How does text take so much more power than audio and video? Within 30 mins of opening WebNovel I have to remove my case and place my phone on an ice pack because the temperature raises enough to make my phone uncomfortable to hold in my hand. And each weekly “ bug fix” optimization. Appears to make it worse. WebNovel open phone heats up. Close WebNovel open AppStore to post review phone almost instantly cools down. Open WebNovel again phone starts heating up again. Update after posting review at beginning of September battery overheating issue resolved until update at end of September. Today October 2nd it progressed to the point I had to place my iPhone on an ice pack to bring it back to room temperature. The phone has cooled significantly in the 5 minutes I have taken to update my review. I imagine the heat will immediately return as I attempt to continue reading. Also for developers attempting to recreate. This happens only when WebNovel is the active app. And only certain days. Yesterday I was able to read for several hours with no heat problem. Today it within an hour it felt like I was holding a pan fresh from the oven. Steadily increasing heat.

  • Updates made the app worse - Edit on 10/2

    Before the recent updates, when I read the “Daily Recommendation” novel/comic for 20 mins as required - I will get a fast pass. Now I even read the “Daily Recommendation” novel for 25 mins and I didn’t get any fast pass. Please developers, I thought that your updates are to improve the app. But I find that not only did the updates not make the app better, you are scamming your readers!!! Update (10/2): it seemed that one of the recent updates corrected the issue I raised above.

  • Buggy. Subscription can't renew.

    The only app I have ever seen with more bugs is Pocket FM. Although some of the stories I can read there are entertaining, if the program mysteriously loses a membership that you paid for the renewal of, too bad. Whoever designed the customer service interface had no clue what they were doing.

  • You buy coins but now you can't watch videos to unlock chapters 😔

    They don't treat us well at all, sure they have events and stuff but if I knew I would no longer be able to watch videos I would have never paid to unlock a chapter

    Had an issue with missing coins. They had absolutely no drive to help. Treated me like a conman for asking for clarification on their policies regarding missing coins and offered no alternative. They should have the amount of coins currently next to the amount used but don’t. Feels like a scam so they don’t have to reimburse you when you notice something wrong.

  • Should add restrictions for kids

    There are a lot of unsafe books for kids under 18 and there are warnings but I feel like they should add restrictions optional ones or ones where there parents can set them up

  • Never know if you can read the book you pay for

    This app used to be great… Now not so much before it wasn’t as expensive to read now they increase the price of the privilege chapters. Their is an issue about books no longer updating do to copy right issues and then dropping the books without announcing or refunding because as the customer support said sometime it’s the author that drops the book, but why did you sell books that are plagiarised books to begin with? You also will not be refunded for the money you spent on these book’s, we as consumers did not know about this issue and should be refunded. All in all it’s to expensive. It’s a shame how this site went down hill fast.

  • Too many glitches and bugs (would be 5 stars)

    I love the stories in this app but there are too many bugs and glitches. Especially when it comes to listening to the books. I’m constantly on the move and sometimes physically reading the books isn’t possible for me. But when I listen- it jumps ahead and sometimes even spends coins and unlocks chapters I wasn’t ready to be unlocked. Or it will close out the app completely. Fix those bugs and it’s a 5 star app for sure!

  • Great Selection - Privilege System Lacking

    The app offers a huge selection of options to choose from across multiple genres. Combine this with their fast pass system and this can lead to finding some treasures you wouldn't normally look at. I gave 3 stars because the privilage system is really steep. For as much as it costs, it should definitely be longer than a month assuming you get it on the 1st. I'd still be willing to pay a higher sub for shared privilage access or subscribe additionally to a specific novel.

  • Faulty ads

    Overall, I enjoy using WebNovel and playing ads to get daily bonuses and fast passes. Unfortunately, lately there have been a lot of faulty ads that don’t let me exit them to get my rewards and I end up having to close the app and starting over again. I noticed the ones that don’t work are the interactive game ads and the ones that have a loading bar at the bottom of the phone screen. These ads are annoying because after the loading bar reaches the end, there is a “Back” arrow at the top left of the screen that when pressed leads me to a frozen WebNovel screen where nothing can be selected and I have no choice but to close the app, relaunch it, and discover that I wasn’t rewarded. One time, I had to do this five times until finally I was “lucky” enough to get an ad that finally rewarded me. Again, very annoying.
