Description

Drop is a delightful little color picker for developers and designers. Pick a color and it will be copied in your preferred format. It's that easy. > Zooming Picker Picking a one pixel border? No worries! You can freely zoom the picker in and out with your scroll wheel or trackpad. > Accurate Most color pickers (including Apple's) don't pick the exact color value because of reasons that we have to understand but you don't. Drop lets you pick the exact color by switching the color profile associated with the app you are picking from. > Dark Mode For all those fans of the dark side, we got you covered. > Dock, Menu Bar, or Both Some like their apps running in their dock, some like to run them in their menu bar. We got both covered. Right click the menu bar icon anytime to bring up the app. > Touch Bar That's right, get quick access to all your colors right from your fancy new Touch Bar. It's the most convenient way to have quick access to your colors. Ever. > Just the formats you use Quickly switch between the common formats you are actually going to need your colors copied into: HEX, RGB, Swift UIColor, Swift NSColor, Objective-C UIColor, and Objective-C NSColor. > Palette Save colors for later in your color palette. > Delight This app was built with more TLC than you can even imagine. It's those little details that make all the difference.

Downloaded this years and years ago. Have never switched. Looks great, does the trick. Glad it exists!

When looking for just a clean and simple color picker, this is my favorite one on the market. UI is beautfil and modern feeling. The ability to easily adjust the value format based on end-use is wonderful. It would be nice to store the palettes, but that often is imported into the design project anyway. Would be more for reference to provide clients.

This is by far the most accurate color picker! I love you can run it in the dock or just in the menu bar. Great design as well.

[UPDATE] This app is absolutely amazing and works great on macOS Big Sur. It still allows you to use the color picker magnifier, which it seems other color picker apps have removed that feature. It also picks very accurate colors since you can change color profiles in the app settings. Looks like the developer added in being able to run the app in the menu bar which is awesome! Overall, if you’re looking for a great app that can pick accurate colors, this app is well worth the price.

the one thing i wish for is for this app to be able to save and recall sets of colors that it currently has in its swatches. it is so accurate that i currently just use a screenshot of the app, with a .txt document for backup and verification, and re-pick the colors to restore the pallette. this works in the meantime but it would be great to be able to save color pallettes for different projects and recall them. this is, hands down, the best color picker app that i've used, i've tried a lot of them. the last one i gave up on would pick a code and then arbitrarily change it slightly in the saved pallettes. i didn't notice it until i was updating a project and noticed that i had two different codes for the same color in my css. they were close enough that they looked the same but not the same hex code. that app has been deleted and this one now lives in it's place. screenshots, and a txt document with color codes, for now, are my project pallettes. my color codes are now consistent.

This app does nor work on my 2018 MacBook Pro with dual screen displays ( built in 2880x1800 & external LG Ultrafine 5120x2880 ), although max resolution is not used. The displays are driven by a Radeon Pro Vega 20 display card. Color capture magnifying curson does not track the displayed screen at all, making screen selections very, very difficult at best.

After last update it will only take the color of my screensaver, not anything in front of it

No matter where I put the finder it is always off by a mile. If the app were free it would be something I could live with but not worth 4 dollars or even 1 considering there are free tools on the web. I was willing to pay the 4 bucks for the convenience of having it as a native app but its a bust.
