The sound machine is expensive to begin with, but it does work well and I really like the sunrise alarm and sleep sounds. However, once your free subscription expires you realize just about everything requires a subscription to use. Seems ridiculous you need to pay a monthly fee to access fee sounds? I can’t recommend this product when there is a paywall for 99% of the features

This app has so many issues. It seems to not work more than it does. We pay for the subscription and often it will start but then spontaneously shut off. I’d give it no stars of I could. I’m currently trying to turn on a story and is turning on and then shutting off.
  • So disappointed!

I was SOOOO excited for my Restore 2 alarm from Hatch. I got it as a Christmas gift from my parents. I tried to bring it back to my apartment to use it. I can’t get it connected to my WiFi. After spending 2 days calling back and forth with my WiFi company I learned my WiFi runs 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz at the same time. The WiFi company told me the Hatch would not connect even though it says on their website that it should connect to university housing. I tried to reach out to Hatch support TWICE over a period of 5 days. It’s been SIX days now and they still have not contacted me. I am so upset and disappointed because this was my big Christmas gift from my parents since it’s a $169 alarm clock AND has a $50 subscription fee for the year! I am in the process of a returning my alarm clock now. 😔

I have one old hatch that is just touch based and one of the newer versions that connects with my phone. The newer gen that connects with my phone is glitchy, the app is slow and the hatch will randomly turn itself off. My app will also frequently log me out. I wish I hadn’t paid for the premium app service, its hasn’t been worth it so far. One positive is that the routines function is cool and I still love my old hatch!
  • Greedy, only marginally useful

I’m all for companies making their profits, but this is a $170+ alarm clock… with a paywall for basically any sounds… and you can’t even fade-in the alarm volume. 3-star product, 0-star value.
  • App Updates Interfere with bedtime routine

I hate writing a review like this but the recent has caused things to grind to a standstill. Sometimes when we finish reading early and before the update I could start the sleep cycle a minute or three early. Now we are unable to reach this feature because the app is trying to update and we can not access. It just continues to spin even without or with WiFi. I left my phone open for 3 hours to wait for the update yet it never finishes. Please give us a way to opt out updates or to have the app update sometime other than at bedtime? That would help out in a big way.
  • Over hyped + over priced

I have never had so many issues with a product before. We bought this in hopes it would help being able to control the thing from our phones, but half the time it doesn’t do what we want it to, stops playing white noise in the middle of the night resulting in our kid waking up, app constantly crashes and team is really no help. Just get a generic one off amazon or target with no WiFi. Not worth it at all.
  • I wish I could love this app

I’ve had my Hatch for a year and some change. Figuring out how to utilize the app is a learning curve in itself. The options advertised for this alarm clock were so cool!-I would be able to search topics for sounds/lights, choose my sounds and color combos, etc. In reality, the app takes so long to load that I have to open and close to reopen the app-often more than once. I’m losing interest and am annoyed that I spend money monthly for a subscription when the app can’t seem to handle basic functions (such as: opening non routine sounds, modifying current playing, sound levels, adjusting colors, searching for sounds.) Yes my app is updated, so is my IOS, yes I have wifi connection-it is truly the APP! As someone who works within UX/UI I’m surprised that I’ve dealt with this issue consistently over a year. Please get someone to work on the functionality of the app! I want to use my $300 alarm clock!
