Welcome to Reddit, the heart of the internet. Reddit is a social network with something for everyone: trending topics, diverse discussions, and engaging communities and comment threads. You’ll find gaming communities, bloggers, meme-makers, fandoms, travel enthusiasts, support groups, AI forums, news junkies, artists, and creators of all types. Reddit has over 100,000 online communities (forums where members post and comment) dedicated to specific topics. Some of the most popular communities are: • r/AskReddit, where users can ask and answer questions • r/funny, which is full of humorous content • r/science, for scientific discussions and news • r/gifs, with funny animated gifs for your viewing pleasure On Reddit you’ll find: • Thousands of community groups Breaking news, social media trends, sports highlights, TV fan theories, open AI discussions and personalized content, there's a community for everyone. • Loads of laughs Find memes, oddly satisfying videos, funny cat videos, and more to help you lose track of time. • AMAs, or "Ask Me Anything" Celebrities, politicians, and experts answer questions from users. • The best discussions on any topic Reddit’s discussion threads are where community members jump in with humor and insights for just about anything; pop culture, sports, entertainment, or financial advice. • Get answers to anonymous questions Ask communities anything you want. Ask questions on relationships, mental health, parenting, career help, fitness plans, and more. • Anonymous profiles so you can do YOU Connect with people about any topic, join interactive community groups or threads, and chat with other redditors, all anonymously. Voting and Karma: Instead of likes and hearts, Reddit’s social network runs on upvotes or downvotes. Voting on posts and comments increase or decrease the creator’s karma, and helps popular and relevant posts rise to the top, while filtering out low-quality or irrelevant posts. While karma doesn't directly impact your ability to use Reddit, more karma can increase posts’ visibility and help you get noticed. Some communities require karma to post or comment, which helps prevent spam or low-quality content. • Bans for responding to threats

Reddit will ban for threatening violence if you encourage people to learn their second amendment rights. I responded people should join militias and military personnel should follow their oath to defend the country against domestic enemies as a comment to a video showing Trump threatening to deport US citizens and they banned my account. I didn’t say to use violence! I said to exercise you rights and duties! I will be suing.

  • Buggy Update/App Broken

I don’t even know how to explain anything wrong with this app atm, the latest update seems to have caused a bunch of bugs I can barely use the app entirely. Every thread I click only loads the op post but no comments at all, in fact the entire lower part of the screen underneath the op post is just blank. If I find a Reddit thread on a browser like safari or google, and I click on it, it asks me if I’d like to view it on the app. I say Yes. And then it brings me to the App Store or Google Play where I originally downloaded the Reddit app. I can open it from there, but it doesn’t load the thread at all. I’ve tried a bunch of different workarounds but nothing seems to be working, it all started happening after the update so that’s really the only thing I can think of to cause these issues.
  • Terrible after recent update

I usually don’t update my apps very often, and this week I am reminded exactly why I generally don’t like to update. I only updated Reddit and since then, nothing but issues with the new app even when closed. ***** As others have stated, the Reddit app freezes, lags, etc. The ENTIRE PHONE. Yesterday Reddit froze, crashed, then my entire iPhone restated. Overall, it’s just very noticeably slower since I updated. ***** Saving images option is MISSING when I’m full screen view. Super annoying. The download / “save image” button should be fixed to just download the ORIGINAL QUALITY IMAGE, and not the lower quality version that loads quicker. ***** As of current, I have to tap to full screen, zoom in, wait for full quality image to load, zoom out, tap to exit full screen, tap the option button, then tap the save button. ***** It’s really a shame that Apollo is gone. ***** Also, STOP auto refreshing the feed when reopening the app. I’m tired of losing my place and never seeing that content again. Super annoying. Why would you guys even program this into the code now?
  • Home page never refreshes

I have been a reddit user for the longest time bug the app is certainly becoming unusable. I keep seeing the same posts on the homepage till I either upvote or downvote on them, but sometimes I just dont want to react to a post. Can’t they just add an option for me to only view unread posts? Some subreddits that I have joined simply don’t show up in home either. If i have joined the sub then why is reddit deciding to “shadowban” some subs from my homepage. Very annoying.
  • A terrible echo chamber!

A handful of power mods suppress free speech and ban anyone that they disagree with. Power users throw tantrums at anything they don’t like while contributing absolutely nothing to positive discourse. Unless you would like to be part of a hive mind collective, find a forum elsewhere.

it’s a little hard to get the whole concept on what and how to do things on Reddit, but i believe within time, like most things work, it’ll become more easier to understand. what really draws my attention to Reddit is how worldwide it is. i am such an open minded person who really enjoys to learn something new on a daily basis and because of Reddit i get that!

Reddit lets you blow off some stream and talk about real topics. You also learn a lot from others.
