Out of all the font managers through history this is the most elegant.

I did not write the following, but it expresses pretty much my opinions. Typeface isn't Suitcase. But it is an affordable, elegant treasure. This inexpensive utility does everyting but auto-activate. I use quark and Affinity on the Mac OS. I like type, so I have a very large collection. I unchecked "Hide Fonts Missing Glyphs" and Typeface opens instantly. I do wish there was a way to collapse ALL font families, even maually. Most, like Avenir, do. Some, like ITC Avant Garde and Bodoni Antiqua, don't. And I wish there was a way not to display system fonts in my application, unlessthey are being used. To be fair I thing all font management apps, with the possible exception of Suitcase, do not attempt to manage system fonts. Still-in-all I think Typeface is a treasure.

This app has made it so much easier to keep track of my fonts and group them using tags. Good job developers!
  • Fantastic! Replacing FontExplorer Pro right now.

This app is first of all FAST! It displays fonts on my M1 without a lag or glitch. It has the ability to import my FontExplorer sets which is a huge plus. I spent a lot of time putting the sets together. Autoactivation seems to work better than FEP. In Affinity Publisher there is a slight delay and then the font appears. With FEP it was hit or miss, mostly miss with autoactivation. It is missing font pairings and similar font features like some apps have but I did not rely on those much anyway. I highly appreciate the lack of subscription and a year's worth of updates is more than fair. Features, speed, interface and lack of subscription make it 5 stars in my book.
  • Paid for Pro to Deactivate Noto Fonts & I Doesn't Work

I'm sure this is a lovely app but I've already got several other font managers. All I wanted was to get rid of the darned Noto fonts that clog up my Adobe workflow. Read an article that said this would do it (after trying several other ineffective solutions). Of course it appeared that the function required to deactivate was part of the paid Pro features. I was frustrated enough that I paid just for the chance to get rid of those stupid useless fonts... Only to have the app say it is a protected system font and cannot be moved, deleted or deativated. So there goes $40 down the drain. To be fair, there was a note on their website to this effect, but it referenced a previous operating system and I did not see the note until after I had upgraded to Pro. I did not realize it would not work until after I'd paid so it is likely a case of operator error on my part. The developer seems responsive and this appears to be some kind of pissing match between Adobe and Apple.

Without Typeface, no graphic designer should be without this app when creating beautiful substancial works of design. The way the app organizes the fonts, allows sampling with flexible text and lettering. Previews are amazing for someone visually inclined. If you don't have this app as a creator of graphics, get it right now! You'll love it.

I've been using Typeface for a couple years, and I love it. It is beautiful, simple, but makes management of my insane library easy and fun. Thank you team!
  • The free version is pretty much useless

Yeah, I can organize fonts, but I can't preview them so I can figure out how to organize them, which makes the free version utterly useless. Limited functionality in a trial version is fine, but zero functionality, absolutely zero, is dumb. You cannot organize what you cannot see. Literally the only thing you can do with the trial version is imagine how nice the Pro version would be. No, thanks.
